Yokohama Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in New Milford

Severe Food Poisoning requiring medical attention! It is with a heavy heart that I leave this review, because up till recently my wife and I have enjoyed this place a lot. We lunch there a few weeks ago and had the fried oysters appetizer. We knew right away something was off about it, a couple of the pieces tasted rancid, but by then we had had most of it so the damage was done. About an hour after the meal it started. We both became very sick, but this was unlike anything I ever experienced. I ate most of it so I took the brunt of it, but we both remained sick for weeks. with a trip to the ER for me. My doctor said we both contracted Vibriosis. We reported them to the local health department and were interviewed. I have noticed this place isn't the cleanest restaurant in the world, but I never thought something like this would happen. Obviously we will never return, but I hope this review spares others from the same...

Used to deliver for this restaurant. Had problems, do to third party deliveries, which were not under the restaurant's control and understanding. Do how ever enjoy sushi. And between delivering from every sushi place in mid western ct, from New Milford, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Danbury and ridgefeild, as well as other places throughout ct, ny and Florida. This has the best selection of sushi in my opinion. And been to over 20 restaurant's. Will say. No matter what sushi pace I have been. Its usually fresh and rolled well. Some time and days better than others, and notice betterqualitywith better tipping. But I like the choices they have compared to other restaurants. As well as there fresh wasabi.

But if you do plan on having a driver delivering. As a driver. Please tip well. As sushi restaurant's take their time to make sure food is prepared...

Our visit didn't start well. We weren't greeted, and when the hostess finally did recognize us, she simply picked up two menu's and led us to a table without saying a single word! Not exactly friendly, to say the least.

Our order was taken in a reasonable amount of time (Dining at 6 pm, Sunday evening), as the dining room was not too busy.

Miso soup was a bit watered down, but ok. We ordered Master Roll, Snowy Mountain Roll and Awesome Roll.

Our food came in less than 15 minutes. The fish was fresh, high quality, and plentiful. Not too much rice, in the sushi rolls, and the combination of ingredients was perfect.
