The absolute worst customer service in a food chain at this location. Now they do have good people, but some of them are absolutely awful and do not care at all. Iām going to quote the on shift lead now - I was helping their customer since no one came to help her at SELF CHECK OUT. Donāt get me started on discounts for those doing a self checkout. Anyways, someone used the machine and walked out. She didnāt know and starts scanning goes to pay and sees things she isnāt buying. I say, oh sorry we need help. No one comes two min goes by. I see one employee helping someone doing the entire self checkout out scanning themselves they claim they arenāt on clock. I apologize. I then say is anyone working here at all. No one responds. Multiple minutes go by someone comes out of the service desk and she says I quote āIām busy I canāt helpā I work in patient care if I ever said this I wouldnāt have a job. This person was wearing a grey shirt that indicates she is a lead or co manager of some kind. To shout out us your busy. Well stop and swipe ur card so she can check out. I already did half ur job as it is. This location is unhinged and this is an everyday experience. They donāt enforce rules like using self checkout designated for those hand held scanners. Instead people pile on the large orders. A separate self checkout exists for that. The two lanes dedicated to hand held self checkout is for that and only that. Yet no one enforces it. No oneās watching either so the person who was actually at the counter before the two of us must of walked out. Good job! Now I want to be clear a few staff here are absolute amazing people and when I see them I talk and say hi. I care about them. The rest who act like youāre an issue can kick rocks. Go to big y they have.phenomenal customer care ALWAYS. Itās 1 mile down the road take a left at the light go straight...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI generally shop here first, and overall love your store but I have some feedback as I just left empty handed for reasons I think are unnecessary and now I have to go give my money to Walmart, which neither of us want me to do. So, I needed laundry detergent, and use Method. Of which you have one variety of soap and softener, with scents that do not match. (Beach sage soap and ginger mango softener). This is a minor disappointment, except that I counted 26 different varieties and sizes of Tide alone, plus Gain, Persil, etc. That is a LOT of repetitive choices but only one for Method brand.
Second, I forgot sandwich wraps yesterday while shopping. Would have been fine with normal tortillas or bonus if I could find a spinach wrap. Checked the cold section by shredded cheese, where I have always found tortillas no matter the store, but found none. So I went to the bread isle. Nothing. Bakery? Nothing. So then I went to the self checkout woman and asked, and was directed to 9 (international foods) or the deli, and maybe the bread section. These are three very different areas of the store, and I think these products can and should be easier to find. Not bread in one place, wraps in another and tortillas in a third.
Not a huge issue, but maybe something you'd want to organize a little differently for the customer? The fact that your employee named three places for one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn general Stop & Shop's prices and sales are good compared to other stores in the area. Produce, Deli, and Meat departments are okay. Not a huge variety, but haven't found anything rotten or spoiled. The pharmacy staff is very pleasant, I've never had to wait long for a prescription to be filled, and the prescription club saves me a lot of money since I don't have insurance.
I've had a few issues with signage on sale items and sale items that are not available or employees not knowing exactly which item it is that is on sale. The young kids that they hire to bag groceries have obviously never been trained. They through cleaning products in with food and some of the bags end up so heavy that either the bag rips or I can't lift it out of the cart to put it in my car.
But worst of all is the fact that, every time (except during the winter) I go in and want to get something out of the bakery cases, I see 2 or 3 FLIES flying around having a good ole time landing on every doughnut, muffin, and bagel in the case. Makes me sick to see that and there is no way I will ever purchase any fresh baked goods from this Stop & Shop, which is a shame because their stuff is usually excellent. There must be a way to keep them out of there since I've never seen that in any...
