Fun, Beautiful, Enlightening For an understanding of the environmental crisis facing New Orleans and southern Louisiana, a beautiful kayak trip down the bayous of one of the remaining near-pristine wetlands with gators and even bald eagles, and a humorous raconteur who is authentic New Orleans -- look no further. Lost Lands will leave you informed and touched by the beauty of Louisiana -- with laughter along the way. Good equipment, best locations. Of course if you'd rather a dumb-downed tour where you learn to throw marshmallows to alligators you know where to find that. So last century.

This was a wonderful tour. The guides started with a clear explanation of the natural forces that created the region and the human forces that are changing it at mind-boggling speed. We kayaked into a remnant cypress swamp, learning about the native and invasive species, encountering lots of turtles, alligators, herons, eagles, and limpkins. It was both educational and a super-fun day!

Special thanks to Marie Gould and Bob Marshall of Lost Lands Environmental Tours for providing such a beautiful and informative outing. What extraordinary people. They've taken on the mission to educate visitors on the importance and impact of Louisiana wetlands and why they're worth fighting for. I highly recommend Lost Lands!

Outstanding Educational Experience with Lost Land Tours!

Lost Land Tours provided an unforgettable and enriching field trip experience for my middle school class. Their team demonstrated incredible knowledge of the Louisiana wetlands, engaging students with fascinating insights about the region’s diverse flora and fauna.

Beyond the immersive tour, they also arranged a special presentation by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Marshall, who spoke about the alarming loss of coastal wetlands and its far-reaching impact on our state. His talk was thought-provoking and deeply informative, leaving a lasting impression on both students and teachers alike.

The professionalism, expertise, and passion of Lost Land Tours made this field trip a truly outstanding educational opportunity. I highly recommend them to any educator looking for an engaging, well-organized, and meaningful learning experience for...

I found this tour from a Reddit recommendation, and I'm so glad I chose it over other kayak outfits. This tour is for people interested in ecology, environmentalism, conservation, and ethical tourism, who want to spend a whole day getting to know Louisiana's wetlands. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Bob's presentation was eye opening to the impact people have on the land and highlighted the importance of preservation. He continued the education on the water surrounded by the beautiful landscape. The small group size allowed us to paddle quietly and not disturb the wildlife; longer time spent on the water gave us more time to spot and hear the wildlife. This tour is for the people who care about the quality of their experience and want to learn from lifelong locals. I cannot recommend Louisiana Lost...

What a wonderful day! Our guides Bob and Marie are a wealth of information! Interesting and fun to listen to. We have been on many swamp tours in the past, but this one tops them all! Started out with a relaxed presentation of the region. Scary information about the loss of land, such a concern for us all not just the Louisiana residents. Then we headed out to the bayou. Beautiful, relaxing, exhilarating, and again many interesting stories and lots of information. Saw the beautiful vegetation, birds, and many many alligators and turtles. You will not be disappointed, it is truly an...
