Where do I start.... hmm 🤔 Well from the moment we booked this hotel I was impressed with the customer service. From reservations to front desk assistance and room service this service was exceptional. When we arrived to the location it was not what I expected. Not a very good area some what crowded and the fact that we were right smack in the middle of a hospital this made it a bit more commercial. Free parking was a plus for me. That being said you get what you pay for. 2nd night here our rear window to our suv was shattered. We do not understand what happened. We had to call the police to make a report and make an insurance claim to get it repaired. Thank goodness there were a auto window repair place near by. This was an unexpected expense we were not counting on. After all that ordeal. We noticed coming in and out the hotel there were now a police patrol car stationed in the parking lot for the remainder of our stay. Not sure if this happens alot here. But it was nice to see that type of security visible. Now going back to the hotel experience. The hotel itself was older but well maintained inside. The exterior was in much need of a makeover and some touch up paint. Maybe some road work as well. You are in the middle of a community that is authentic to the new orleans style homes. Very interesting to look at. So back to the interior of this hotel. Everything from the moment you walked in was exceptionally clean. It is an older hotel but very well maintained inside . It's much appreciated too. We stay on the 9th floor. Which was an amazing view of the surroundings areas. We over looked the pool area and ruling out the view of their trash ben, it was decent. The rooms were very clean. No funny smells or torn or broken furniture. It was cozy, clean and comfortable. Exactly what we were looking for. Overall I was pleased. One thing I have to note is... they diffently need to put more care and maintenance into the balconies. They mention balcony rooms but these balcony room are not functional. No place to sit and even if you try to sit the cemented balcony does not allow you to see nothing so you can not really enjoy the balcony. You have to stand for quick views that's all. And the exterior of this hotel like I said before needs a whole lot of Love and some paint for sure. So not impressed with the balcony or the view of your trash containers right next to the pool area. A sore for your eyes. This is why this hotel made an average rating of 3.5 maybe a 4to5 star with better balcony convenience. But diffently a overall of 3.5 star due to the balconies. We went ahead and gave them a 4star because I could not give a 3.5. Plus a 4star would be in place due to their exceptional customer service. That was definitely a pleasant experience. I would recommend them if you stay indoors or just coming and going. Don't book it for the balconies because it's non functional. But overall a good place to stay with great customer service and clean , cozy and comfortable rooms. Would I return again ? Probably so. But ill wait to see if some paint and a more functional balcony would be put in place with some extra parking lot over night security. This experience was somewhat unexpected yet pleasant. So it was a bitter sweet experience overall due to the extra expense we had from a broken rear window in our suv in their parking lot. So be cautious...
Read moreFor those of you that may just want a quick recap of someone's Hotel experience, this may not be the review for you. For those of you that have a little bit more time, I would like to share my experience with you staying at this hotel which was nothing short of outstanding! I'm not going to take you from check in to check out but I will say that the process was seamless. Free parking is directly across the street with 24-hour security. Never had a problem finding a spot. The hotel still has a brand new fresh feeling to it when you walk in the door. Very Mid Century Modern. Bright and Airy. Lots of fun color and the space overall was immaculate. The room was fantastic. I had a king room with a balcony. I am on the road more than I am at home and having a little bit more room in the room is very important to me. My room had a small couch, large chair and a separate sitting area. There's a long desk which provides ample room for those of you that will be working as I was. There is a buffet style sink right when you walk in which has real dishes and Cutlery and a small sink. The refrigerator was large enough to store everything that I had brought. There is an armoire that is lighted when you open the door. Plenty of drawers and Hangers in the armoire. The bathroom had a large walk in shower and I never had any issue with loss of pressure or hot water. The staff is ridiculously attentive. They treat you like a person. They call you by your name if they know it. I believe the hotel offers daily housekeeping which is rare but typically I just keep to myself and get towels when needed. I was blown away by what I got for what I paid. The location is amazing. There was not one thing that went wrong during the trip. I forgot to mention the bed which was incredibly comfortable with ample pillows. There are also reading lights attached to the headboard. That is about it. You would be crazy not to stay in this hotel while visiting New Orleans unless you had to stay in a different neighborhood of course. I would book here again and again...
Read moreThe hotel has paper thin walls. So no sleep or rest is plausible here unless you’re planning on partying all night. The service and the way the hotel is put together is actually very very nice. But the experience as a whole was unpleasant due to other people’s lack of common sense and unfortunately the hotel was built incapable of blocking out noise.
There’s nothing to drown out sounds from upstairs or next door or outside of your door. If you’re looking for a cheap, modern, hotel this is it. If you’re looking for cheap, modern, and quiet/relaxing hotel? This is not it. The front desk tried to give us complimentary champagne to “help with sleep” because obviously, this is a city that “never sleeps”. But even Las Vegas hotels are quieter and that’s the real sin city. Although the gesture was nice, all 3 nights we’ve been here, I have gotten 0 sleep. They offered to let us change rooms as well, but it wouldn’t have mattered because the noise won’t cancel out.
The cherry on top? Front desk tells us when we first complained that “there’s no manager here, they won’t be back til Monday” when we came down at 6 am from no sleep the first night. What do you mean....every hotel has a weekend manager or supervisor on duty. They informed me later that day to call the front desk next time if someone is being loud. They seemingly solved the issue at first. But, unfortunately they cannot control every single person that chooses to be loud. My hearing isn’t that great to begin with, but the fact that even I can hear all types of noises at anytime of the hour says a LOT. And yes, I’m not exaggerating when I say, every. Single. Hour.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Absolutely a beautiful hotel. Absolutely horrible and awful experience. How did this hotel get high rated stars is...
