As a filmmaker, I have to say the McKinley Studios is the go to for ADR recording for actors. Period. Full stop. Their prices are the best and the talent of engineer Ben Lorio is nearly unmatched- he communicates with the director, producer, and Post Sound Designer at such clarity and passion while being a true team player. We have recorded extensively with Ben Lorio and at McKinley for no less than three hours of ADR and in the upwards of 8 hours (with the total amount of ADR recording done with ben alone will total around 19 hours across 4 different actors)...including child actors- recording dialogue ADR, emotional noises, and action/impact..even with utilization of props for emotional realism and/or special effect. He has an incredible set up for mixing, multiple monitors in the booth and the mix room and the ability to seamlessly hear and speak to the actors in the booth at the push of a button. He is not just accommodating but before our first session he pulled me aside and said "I want you to not worry about how much you get today- Im a part of your team- if we go over in time we figure out a way to get everything in the can that works for everyone". Fortunately, he was so prepared, as was I, and the actors we often ended with time to spare. The engineers who collaborate with him are equally focused and hospitable. He goes over mic decisions with Post Sound and because we are recording at 4 different ADR studios around the country- he has even had meetings with other engineers to aid them in knowing the most efficient way to handle our film's workflow, for their benefit.
Glenda is an incredible and kind leader of the overall space which is just clean, beautiful, and so easily accesible and located you'd swear it was something of destiny's making.
Ben is already an acclaimed name in the elite and prestigious New Orleans music and recording scene (a scene that is arguably the most top notch in the country next to Nashville, Los Angeles and NYC)...but I can assure you.... He is already cornering the market on film...
