I strongly encourage you all to train your employees better on the live animal care at this pet store. First time going in, I noticed a very young ball python in a 20 gallon tank with one hide and one water bowl. Said hide was too small for the snake to get completely under and tank was located directly in front of main entrance doors during winter months. The lack of somewhere for this poor thing to hide from all the light, air and stimulation was very concerning to me, which I mentioned to an employee during my visit. Next, I asked for a small frozen rat and had to wait for the correct employee to get one out for me, which on first try he handed me a large one. After much confusion I took it up to cashier to pay and she charged me a dollar and something, I'm assuming thinking it was a mouse when it was not. I didn't bother to correct her. Second visit I witnessed an employee struggling with a large lizard of some kind on his shoulder, picking off shed! You never forcefully remove shed from reptiles, you're suppose to give them a sauna, which wouldnt be necessary in the first place if his humidity and temp was being controlled properly. I witnessed this employee struggle to keep hold of it for awhile then noticed the tree frog tank had one floating in its water dish. Alerted fumbling employee to this and he says oh no, wonder how long it's been dead, then proceeds to remove dead tree frog while still maintaining control over this large lizard with the bad shed. Did not stick around to see if water bowl was replaced, after having a carcass in it for who knows how long. I get it, proper animal care is hard and time consuming. I was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt. But when I left I was so disappointed that I cant stomach a 3rd go of it. Please, please, please train your employees better. My heart hurts to think of all the poor live animal management that's going on based on just what I alone have witnessed in my 2 separate,...
Read moreStore was great when they opened. Place has been on a downhill slide. I continued to goonly because of fish quality over other local stores. Employees in pajama pants some times, rude, and having to usually go ask to be waited on is terrible customer relations. Went in today and was asked what I was putting my single 2.5 inch koi I asked for in. I replied a 29 gallon tank then when it's large enough a pond. I was told 29 gallons is not big enough for that fish and they would not warranty it. I guess the uneducated kid didn't realize how bad it actually is to put a fish thats in 72 plus degree water into a pond with 55 degree water in it. Or the fact that to transition it would take way more oxygen than in the small bag it was in. Also being we have a 1 acre pond with other fish in it that 2.5 koi needs to be 4 to 6 inches to not be eaten. Its such a nice store it's a shame it's being ruined by the quality of employees. Asked for 36 feeder golds for my piranha tank. Paid for 48. Got 38. Guess they should also teach staff to count. I'm assuming the staff member was just upset she wasn't getting her way on the koi and thought she could pull one over. Also was charged one than advertised price on said koi which is all fine for my final trip to...
