2nd Avenue Mens Shelter — Local services in New York

I'm a whole College student in this Shelter & the case workers offer little to no help, & have a lack of compassion, respect, & honesty, & professionalism. I've been in the shelter for almost year, & it's the only shelter I've been in where I have to help myself because the case workers want you to worship them for any help. It's like jumping thru hurdles to get any actual help here. They would purposely schedule ILP meetings on mornings where they know I wouldn't be able to show up due to me already being in class, & instead of trying a way that works with my schedule, they're using my own college experience as a way to have me sanctioned aka removed from the shelter, because I can't literally afford to miss classes instead of just finding a time to work with me.l for the meetings, I'm one of the most respectful clients in the shelter & I get treated like trash by staff, I've been begging for a Muslim Case...

Staff are incumbent and inconsiderate. Lashing out at residents, and refusing services that are wanted and even needed.

Residents, are rising up, and staff are turning to illegal crossroads such as relieving laws, hiding mail, and even forcing residents deeper into homelessness.

Staff are known to lock residents out, and refuse future advancment into the residents lives, futures and careers.

No better words other than HORRIBLE. Absolutely deny this shelter every chance u get! Even if u have to stay at the intake center for a couple more days...
