Astoria Park Parking Lot — Local services in New York

Astoria Park Carnival - June 7 – June 11, 2023 Location: Astoria Park Parking Lot. If you want my one word review, I will say... AVOID! Why avoid because it's one of the worse playland kind of festival ever. It's a SCAM. Most probably because it's a temporary 5 days carnival type of festival and because of this reason it's SO CROWDED. People have to want literally for an hour or so for some lame rides. One employee is controlling one small ride and because of this reason the line is almost out of the sight and you can't find the starting point of the line and end up standing in wrong line because of mismanagement. Basically the whole plan is a classic example of mismanagement. I don't know why they choose to set this up in a SMALL parking lot space of a park under the bridge. Why I said before this carnival is a scam because they just want to rip you off. The rides are so expensive. They tried to trick you with the ticket process. One ticket cost $1.50 and one basic lame, short duration ride requires 4-5 tickets, so basically one ride cost somewhere around $6-$8 which is expensive because, after standing in line for almost half hour to an hour, (almost all of) the RIDE DURATION is LESS THAN A MINUTE, literally! Food is expensive too like any other carnival/festival. You should walk to the park or take public transportation because if you bring your car, good luck finding a parking spot. I would definitely suggest to go to some REAL amusement park which runs on permanent basis and strongly recommend to AVOID this Dreamland Amusement's Astoria Park Carnival next...

This lot is fine and most important, it is free which comes in handy during the annoying alternate side parking idiocy. The one gripe is this lot hosts the yearly bread & circuses event for the masses of plebs, namely the ridiculous carnival for a few days. During that time this lot is off limits to residents of Astoria because they have to set up/tear down these monstrous and obnoxious rides so humans can be swirling and twirling in the air or tossed about while shrieking mindlessly. Yes, fun! Maybe another scene in the Final Destination movie franchise...

It's great to have the opportunity of free parking right in the middle of the park. It makes it more accessible from anywhere in the city. Lookout for festivals and activities...
