It looks like a bar but its not a bar. It's a pizzeria but also a pasta, breakfast, sandwich, and Mexican place depending on the mood I suppose.
One morning recently I was debating with myself whether to order on an app and pay a premium or walk to a local restaurant and order to save. So I went to Sophistian.
They were playing cartoons when I came in which was nice. The guy at the bar was polite. It took him a minute to find the right menu. I asked him about Mexican Breakfast because it was featured prominently on the menu. He suggested the Chilaquiles. They took quite a while to prepare. They were so gross! Soggy tortilla chips and mediocre salsa with what looked like chopped up pieces of pre-cooked/bagged chicken. The chicken on the Chilaquiles is, of course, is a $7 mark up so with my almost $8 "Moccacino" aka a packet of Swiss Miss and machine espresso, my total creeped up beyond what I should have just spent on a delivery app for way better food. Never again! $32 to be disappointed wishing I had just spent that...
Read moreI've been here a few times. It's a beautiful, very cute, cozy, sort of rustic space with a very casual, relaxed atmosphere. And they serve excellent, very delicious food. The portions are generous. Every dish I've had thus far has been just absolutely scrumptious, with a beautiful presentation. Their prices are very reasonable as well. And they provide great service. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, especially Christian (btw, if you're curious about the genesis of the name, it's a portmanteau of the owner's two children: Sophia & Christian). I highly recommend this place and I definitely will be returning...
Read moreI ordered through Too Good To Go app. It costed $5 for a mystery bag of food. I received overcooked spaghetti with sauce and dry, hard bread I couldn’t eat. For $5 I could’ve just stayed home and made my own overcooked spaghetti lol. No meat or anything. I wouldn’t even mind them giving me half the noodles with 1 piece of meatball? No protein at all. I came home and cooked up meat to add to it. The stale bread went in the trash. Waste of money and they don’t care what they give the customer. Don’t overlook discount apps like Too Good to Go. You could have gained a new neighborhood customer that would have frequented...
