For the past three months, I've been a regular customer at Othello Deli , visiting every morning before heading to work. While the coffee and ambiance of the place are great, I feel compelled to share my experiences with the person who works the morning shift, especially my most recent visit on a Wednesday morning.
At first, I tried to attribute the surly attitude of the person behind the register and coffee machine to a possible bad day. We all have those moments, right? However, what has become clear to me is that this isn't just an occasional occurrence; it's a consistently unpleasant experience.
The gentleman at the register is never polite, never welcoming, and never smiles. It's disheartening to start your day with such a negative vibe from a place you rely on for a pick-me-up. What struck me most was an incident when I politely requested to have a little less sugar in my coffee. I apologized for the change of mind and asked kindly, but his response was nothing short of astonishing.
He questioned my decision, visibly upset, and even resorted to sarcasm by offering me sugar to go, as if my simple request was a major inconvenience. This situation might seem trivial to some, but when such behavior becomes a recurring theme, it can make your morning experience downright frustrating.
As a loyal customer who genuinely enjoys the coffee and atmosphere at, I believe it's essential for the management to be aware of the consistent negative interactions with their morning staff. A warm and welcoming demeanor can make a world of difference, especially when it comes to a place where many of us seek a positive start to our day.
In conclusion, I hope that the management at [Coffe takes note of this feedback and considers addressing the issue with their morning staff. A small change in attitude could go a long way in ensuring that customers like me continue to enjoy their coffee without the bitterness of a bad...
Read moreI had the distinct displeasure of visiting what must be the worst deli in existence. I ordered a basic tuna melt sandwich—nothing fancy, mind you—just your run-of-the-mill tuna with a side of pickles, a bag of chips, and a bottle of soda. What did I receive for this abomination of an experience? A bill for $22. Yes, you read that right: twenty-two dollars for what should’ve been a simple, comforting meal.
Let me break down the travesty: the “tuna melt” wasn’t even melted. Imagine my surprise when I opened up the sandwich only to find ice-cold, stale, day-old tuna slapped onto a roll like it was an afterthought. No sauce. No spread. No effort. It wasn’t toasted, nor did it carry a trace of warmth. It was a sad, soggy excuse for a sandwich that barely held itself together, and for that, I was charged $15.
What did this royal feast include, you ask? Tuna. Lettuce. Tomato. A basic roll. Four ingredients, and none of them were fresh. And the "side" of pickles? Barely edible. I would’ve had more satisfaction chewing on cardboard. For a soda and a small bag of chips, they tacked on another $7. You mean to tell me I paid for the privilege of this culinary disaster?
And let’s not overlook the stellar service (read: sarcasm). Rude, inattentive, and slower than molasses in January. This deli has mastered the art of making their customers feel like an inconvenience for daring to step through the door. If you’re in the mood to be overcharged, underfed, and disrespected, by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and avoid this catastrophe...
Read moreBeware of coming here at night.... The morbidly overweight caucasian fella over charges you, probably so he can pocket the extra money. As a regular, I will no longer go here at night so I will not get cheating out of my money.
For 2 years I have been a regular at Othellos. Going sometimes up to three times a day, Morning, Afternoon, and night. Normally I buy the same stuff, and swipe my card without looking at the price... One day after going there for two years, I decided to look... in the morning, I buy 2 bagels and a butterfinger comes out to $4.50. One day I decide to buy the same stuff at night and this guy charges me $7.75... Mind you, its night time so the bagels are stale by then.
I thought maybe he fat fingered given how large his obese fingers are so I forgave him. I continue to go and he consistently over charged me for small and large items alike. Things that cost 10 dollars during the day, suddenly are 17 dollars when hes on the register. Things that cost 5 dollars at night when its a different guy at the counter. suddenly cost 12 dollars with him. .... What pains me the most is I had been going there for 2 years before I realized this guy has been overcharging me by such rediculous amounts....
Managment, put prices on the items so this guy will have a harder time price gouging unless you guys are in on it... Rediculous
Also, the slob touches the prongs of the forks with his bare sausage fingers that have cuts and open sores. Hes a...
