I got into plants earlier this year. ive lived in harlem my whole whole and always saw this shop but never went in. finally i did and im so happy i did. the atmosphere is great, i love the different types of plants they carry but what i love most is how awesome Ahmed is. not sure if hes the owner but anyway, he is amazing at his job and extremely knowledgable, as a new plant mom i was very nervous and had mang questions. any question u have, he has the answer! he is such a nice person and is passionate about what he does. i went a few times and he even remembered me when ihadnt gone in a few months. I tried out PlantCorner and it was gorgeous but ijust didnt feel the same energy from the worker, ididnt feel confident that they wld give me great detail about the plant i wanted and i didnt comfortable asking questions (they didnt do anything wrong, comfortability is diff for everyone) but at United Garden Center, I feel great from the time i enter until i leave. I may be moving soon so i will miss this little shop. Thank you Ahmed for your hard work, kindness and passion for what you do! -from swisscheese plant girl

Wow. What a breath of fresh air. Informed, thoughtful, respectful and *kind* service and advice. Next time you need a pot, or plant, or something else for your garden or window ledge, stroll down here and experience the pleasure of dealing with a human, rather than just clicking on your screen! There's plenty of choice and prices are reasonable too. A bit of context - I first stopped in to find some small plant pots to repot some herbs - found exactly what I wanted, and better than anything I'd seen on amazon. Went back and bought a few more a couple of weeks later. Then, yesterday, I went in to find a rather larger container to repot a plant for a friend that was in something way too small, which it was slowly leaning out of... Really good practical advice, not just on what to choose, but also some very helpful tips for how to move the group of four plants over with the minimum risk of damage. Remains to be seen how my efforts work out (I have whatever the opposite is of a green thumb) but the advice was absolutely invaluable. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Great staff!! And super helpful and informative on how to take care of and manage my plants. I brought my plant in to get repotted cause the soil was SO dry and the leaves and stems were growing every which way. Now, I’ve NEVER had a plant gnat problem with ANY of my plants and I would know because I HATE gnats. And while they did a good job of repotting and realigning, my soil came back with a gnat infestation :(. I’m now working on trying to eliminate it and not infect my other plants. But I’m certain it’s from the soil because I noticed gnats on my window IMMEDIATELY, and the sticker just proved it. Again, amazing and helpful staff so this is unfortunate. UPDATE: Now 2 of my other plants have been infected and I’m moving to throw them all out. Azzas Garden this was BEYONDDDDDDD disappointing and heartbreaking. NEVER AGAIN!
