Iight so boom. This is my 3rd time dining at this establishment and my first review. The review will mainly reflect my current experience but let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE B2 Harlem. I dined here back in the day when it was called B Squared and loved the new pumpkin french toast and my date and I loved the cocktails we ordered, I don't remember which but their actual cocktail menu was GLORIOUS and amazing. My family and I dined here for brunch as well, after the rebrand, 3 generations of fam, and everyone loved their meal. The music, the flavors, the ambience was 10/10.
This most recent encounter...something was off. Granted, there were 2 large parties (one when we arrived, and another after we were seated) and I believe the restaurant was understaffed. The kitchen is small and there's only one server, one bartender and one manager. After we ordered drinks, it took another 40 minutes to order food. After we ordered our food, it took another 45-50 mins for the food to arrive. But we were a table of two, and there were parties of two who sat after us who ordered, were served their food, ate and paid before we even received our food! Again, I attest this to the large parties they had to tend to and the lack of staff, but sheesh. To be quite honest, my homegirl asked if they could provide us with two tequila shots on the house to compensate for the wait. The server Kennedy would have loved to but his manager said no. Not to sound entitled, but I'm all about hospitality and making sure customers are feeling important and considered. Ahh well.
For brunch, we did the bottle service of champagne which was very very cute. Between the two of us we ordered the Buffalo shrimp as an appetizer, catfish bites, Mac & cheese and chicken & waffles. The catfish bites were POPPIN! Seasoned beautifully, crispy, juicy and accompanied with a wonderful remolaude sauce. Yum. There were only 4 Buffalo shrimp apart of the appetizer which like...fine, but 6 would've been perfect lol. The Mac & cheese was quite good but my homegirls chicken with her waffle was dry. I've ordered it in the past and it was bombbbbb so I attest it to the lack of staff.
All in alll, I recommend it and I will be back. I won't let one iffy day ruin experiences that were nothing less than phenomenal in the...

We stopped in early Saturday morning and were surprised to be the only customers — but honestly, that just meant we had the place to ourselves. The vibe was warm from the jump. Friendly staff, cool ambiance, and the owner was incredibly welcoming. Even the owners grandson (who’s clearly being groomed for greatness) came over to chat with us — he’s a toddler but very outgoing haha.
The decor is dope. Thoughtful, creative interiors with a lot of character. We started with drinks, which came out quickly. My friend had the Ruby Dee and said it was 🔥 — I can’t remember what I had, but I sipped it down with no complaints.
Now to the food. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. I went for the lobster hash, which is probably a good idea but could use a little tweak in execution. A crispier potato — maybe even some scattered hashbrowns as the base — would’ve helped. The potatoes came out cool or cold, and that took away from the creole flavor. Cold and creole just don’t party nice together on a plate, so I swapped it out for the crab cake and a side of grits.
The plating was beautiful. I typically prefer a crab cake that’s all lump, minimal filler — so visually, I didn’t expect much. But flavor-wise? It delivered. Gave me salmon cake energy (in a good way), but with crab. And the grits? Solid grits. Not watery, not over or under cooked, not the “yall I just discovered chicken broth” grits everybody is doing these days. Just a good creamy side of grits.
I’m planning to come back this week — the food was decent, the drinks were good, and the staff made the experience feel like a spot worth rooting for and supporting. The prices weren’t crazy either. I’m looking forward to checking out the dinner menu. I’ve got a feeling it’s only going to get better from here. Check them out!
In this day and age, it’s important to be intentional with our dollars! I hope their volume picks up and they...
Read moreLegitimately one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaraunt. Staff was dismissive as soon as my partner and I stepped inside and it only went downhill from there. We waited 15ish minutes to even be seated (it was not busy enough to justify the wait) and we waited 15ish minutes just to place our order. We got the crab cakes, burger, and chicken and pancakes, as well as a hot and iced coffee. The iced coffee came with a flavoring that we thought was oreo but the black bits floating around were just coffee grounds, the hot coffee had a thick layer of grounds on the bottom of the cup that made it kind of gross to drink.
The crab cakes were just ok, if a bit dry. For $22 though we expected more than three small (gone in 3-4 bites) cakes. Then we waited another 20ish minutes for our main entrées. The burger was fine, fries with it were fine. Again, though, for $25 I expected more food that wasn't overcooked (asked for medium rare, came out more like medium well). The chicken and pancakes were so bad my partner couldn't eat them. The chicken was dry and flavorless and the pancakes were grossly undercooked. For both entrées we were given our sauces (ketchup with the burger, ketchup and hot sauce with the chicken and pancakes) in small disposable plastic cups. For the price of the food they should have come in something at least a little nicer. At the very least the staff was able to remove those from our bill.
Otherwise though the staff was dismissive and didn't check in on us once except for when we were already done. While annoying on its own it was made even worse when we were given the bill and there was an automatic 20% gratuity. Nowhere on the menu or in the restaurant is there signage noting the auto-grat.
This is all to say that the food, drinks, and service came nowhere near the quality expected to come with such a high price tag. I won't be going back and I can't recommend anyone...
