An incident occurred last Friday prompted my review of Bikram Yoga Bronx. On Thursday a yoga instructor asked if I had put my yoga clothes in their laundry. I mentioned that I did. The instructor informed me that I couldn't do it anymore. I said o.k. and thought the issue was resolved. On Friday an announcement was made in class about not leaving clothes to be washed. When I had left the class, the owner angrily stated that I'd assumed that it was o.k. and I was wrong for what I did. The owner yelled at me as students were leaving the class. I had informed the owner that I was told just yesterday and that I hadn't left my clothes everyday. I was in between places and couldn't wash my yoga shorts by hand all the time. This has been a low point in my life and help hasn't been in abundance lately. I had apologized and left.
Four things disturbed me by the confrontation: 1.) the lack of professionalism from the owner and the instructor. Both parties were over zealous and their behavior humiliating. They acted as if I did something criminal. 2.) Yoga symbolizes tranquility and growth. I didn't anticipate such an arresting outcome. The situation could have been handled differently. 3.)The yoga instructor clearly didn't trust that I got the message when we spoke. They went to great lengths to make sure I'd received the message "loud and clear". 4. )Lastly I'm a customer that paid for a service from a business. When a customer isn't satisfied with the product/service or how they are being treated, a business should attempt to regain a customer's trust. The owner should exhibit compassion and/or empathy when a delicate matter is revealed. If you want to deal with an establishment that demonstrates professionalism and respect (when dealing with sensitive issues)...
Read morePreviously would come here on and off for about 6 years. one of the cheapest/affordable yoga classes for hot yoga but you're better off donating to yoga to the people. If you go there constant and sign up for the email they ask for yogi's that want to trade classes for cleaning. Some of the rental mats aren't always clean and a lot of the towels are too old and used by many. If you decide to be a worker they will ask you to clean the locker rooms, toilets etc for 4 hours once a week. The men's locker room has no ventilation and has a smell like beginning stages of mold. The women's locker room is always packed, everyone showers and leaves their underwear and if you can't seem to get there on time you won't be buzzed into the building. They only have one yoga room and the carpet has not been changed since the first day I took class there. The smell is horrid but you get used to it once the heat overwhelms you lol The community classes & late night classes are the worst time to come because even when it is full they practically try to squeeze in as much people as they can. You're forced to sacrifice your personal space and end up in an unhygienic situation with the stranger next to you shaking their...
Read moreFirst and foremost I would like to say I have been following the owner on instagram for over 1yr but because my life has been chaotic I did not sign up for classes.
Last week I decided to take my health serious and I registered for classes. today 05/12/2023 my first day taking yoga classes at the yoga lab and based on my first visit I love it.
The location is very convenient and close to a lot of shops and food restaurants.
The studio is inviting and homey. The bathroom is clean and have shower stalls should you want to take a shower.
The receptionist was friendly and informative, as for the yoga class IT WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!
She starts the class with breathing techniques and stretching, from here she builds to actual yoga poses and don’t worry if you can’t keep up she will not push you to be an expert right away.
She has a very soothing voice so if you are like me that fall asleep when people that have a soothing voice talk… try to keep up 🤣
Overall: it a great yoga studio the other classmates welcome me in and did not make me feel left out.
Will recommend to anybody.
P.s. to those that claim is too far, I’m coming from Staten Island and It only takes me 1hr to get...
