I had my business Photo Shoot here yesterday. I like that the studio was available at its appointed time. Although it was on the second floor, i have knee issues and the elevator was not working and there was no prior notice to me. When we got in the studio there was suppose to be 3 lights and there was only 2, one of which wasn't charged. It took my photographer 30 min to to reach out to someone and wait there response, also he had to waist time to go out in the rain and get some of his own equipment. I was very pleased that when the staff did get back to us and allowed us to use another light from another studio room, as well as gave us the time back (30 min) that we missed. The studio had a good look but wasn't really clean. We wore our white Chef jackets and some of the poses required us to lean our arm on the stove etc. The room had pieces of cut sheet-rock leaning up against the brick wall, which made us change that area for one of our shots. We made the best of it and had a great photo session, but the few occurances should...
Read moreTouring Brooklyn Photo Studios was an enlightening experience as I sought out a studio space as a potential tenant. Our guide did an excellent job showcasing the impressive array of amenities available, which left me truly impressed. The variety of options offered for studio space were enticing, and the deals available made it even more appealing.
However, I did encounter a couple of concerns during my visit. Firstly, the lobby area didn't exude the level of security I would have hoped for, especially considering the valuable equipment I would be storing there. Additionally, the fact that a significant portion of the building is still under construction raised some apprehension, particularly regarding potential disruptions during audio recording sessions.
Overall, Brooklyn Photo Studios offers a promising space with fantastic amenities and options for studio work, but the security and ongoing construction are factors to consider carefully, especially for those with specific needs like equipment safety and uninterrupted...
Read moreMy client booked a studio here a few months ago and was very disappointed with my experience. There was no one in the building when we arrived. The room unlocked at the booked time but it was not ready to be used.
There were supposed to be three FJ400 strobes
There was:
One functional unit
One unit with a dead battery
One unit with no battery that was falling off it's mount. It was held in only by a single loose screw.
Also missing were:
The Westcott trigger
The boom arm
Sandbags
Beauty dish diffusion sock
Over all I was not able to use the studio as described on there website. If I didn't have my own westcott trigger in my bag I wouldn't have been able to use the lights at all. As it was I was significantly limited by the lack of boom arm and FJ400 batteries. As I'm looking for a studio to use again I remembered my experience and just wanted to warn other photographers, if something is wrong with the room you book there is no...
