CAMBA Inc — Local services in New York

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS REVIEW IS A LITTLE BIT FOR CAMBA'S BROOKLYN HOMELESS SHELTER FOR WOMEN, BUT MOSTLY FOR CAMBA'S SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM LOCATED AT THEIR WINTHROP ST. OFFICE: I am currently a client of CAMBA's supportive housing program. I was once homeless and stayed in their shelter where they gave good meals, activities, and a decent, clean, safe place to sleep. For the last 13 years they have been renting me a studio apartment here in Brooklyn through their Winthrop St. office, through the auspices of the Office Of Mental Health at 1/3 of my income (which is Social Security). ALL staff members at the Winthrop St. office have ALWAYS treated me with courtesy, sensitivity, professionalism and respect. Their support system suffered only a little during the worst of the pandemic. The most problems I have is when there's a change of staff, but they even have that covered by support staff and supervisors. My experiences with CAMBA have all been good and THAT is why I have only good things to say. I assure you, I'm not lying or exaggerating. I would tell ANY homeless person to seek out their services and any person who is interested in making donations to a good cause to make donations!! I'm poor and even I find a way to donate money to CAMBA through the AmazonSmile program where each time I purchase anything at Amazon.com, they make a small donation of their money to CAMBA. It doesn't come out of my pocket at all. I am grateful to CAMBA for all the help and support they have given me throughout the years and I am eternally grateful to them. I highly recommend this...

If I could give this place a 0 i would I applied for a security position at this company like 3 different times finally got a call back by a Mrs Paola she sends me some were far for an interview then after I was told to wait for Paola to call me for a second interview because she has to check my job references. I waited a week so I called them back Paola then tells me give her another week to check the job numbers I waited another week then I call her back then she tells me the other lady that did the first interview was gonna check the job references smh I already explained to them that 2 of my pass jobs are no longer in business but they did not listen I then waited 4 days later and I got no call back... And the story goes on and on basically when I finally got a call they said the numbers she called were out of service. like helloooooo I already told them that those company's from 2008 and 2005 are no longer in business. So they pretty much wasted me time when I could have been going in other interviews. And at the end of the day they only paying 11.00 dollars an hour Dont apply for this company they will...
