Buckle up this is going to be long(Blippi Live 5/4/2025)
Itâs taken me quite a while to write this due to my hectic life but I do believe itâs important I leave this review so that anyone with a child that has a disability like my child can try and be as prepared as possible before visiting the theatre. My child has autism as well a coordination disorder.
Water bottles/cups- outside drinks are not permitted
My child will only drink from a straw cup and canât wait on long lines for me to purchase a drink. I would speak with management prior to the event and get it authorized because being held up on the line caused my child to have behaviors.
Stroller parking: Strollers have to be parked in the stroller parking area for a fee of $5
If your child is like mine and uses a stroller for a wheelchair you will be stopped 101 times by staff about your stroller and where to park it. I had to tell them several times that we uses the stroller as a wheel chair. It may be helpful to print a handicap sign and hang it from the stroller. Being stopped constantly caused my child to have behaviors.
Crowds/merch line
Expect the venue to be loud and crowded. Doesnât matter if you arrive early or on time.
Buy the merch you want from a store and bring it in because the lines are so long and Iâm sure the merch is expensive bc they tried to charge me $14 for a popcorn(mind you I didnât even pay that much to park my car in the garage)
Accessible seating
Due to my childâs disabilities and challenges we have to sit in accessible seating. When I went up to the usher for assistance with my seats he pointed me to the seats where there was no place to park the stroller. When I said I needed a place to park the stroller the usher told me I had to move the seat out the way. After several tries to lift the seat I couldnât do it and was forced to remove my child from their safe space to a regular seat and park our stroller behind us. This caused my child a lot of stress and in return I was pinched and hit by my child. Several minutes after that the usher came up to me and told me I have to move the stroller. I told him I actually need the stroller and I was currently being hit by my child because I canât remove the accessible seat and let them watch the show in their stroller. Thatâs when another usher came over and had me show him my tickets and told me that we were in the wrong seats and made us move which caused my child more stress. By time we made it to the new accessible seats my kid was extremely overwhelmed and stressed out. When I left the theatre to find a quiet place because my kid was kicking and screaming staff came up to us while my kid was trying to hit me to tell me I had to park my stroller like seriously read the room!!
If you need a quiet place to regroup the downstairs bathroom area is probably the best place.
Unfortunately, we only stayed at the Blippi show for about ten minutes(We were in the lobby longer.)There were too many variables out of my control that ultimately lead to my child having a meltdown down and not being able to enjoy their favorite character Blippi.
I gave two stars because the theatre is very beautiful and I donât want that to get lost in all my complaints . Itâs a very clean and nice theatre I just wished that there was a staff member that was dedicated to assisting...
Read moreThe Kingâs Theater is an absolutely gorgeous entertainment based attraction and is the premier performing arts venue of Brooklyn, New York.
Designed by architectural firm, Rapp & Rapp, the Kingâs Theater initially opened as a movie palace in 1929 and was owned and operated by the Loweâs Theater Chain.
After itâs closure in 1977, the theater went through multiple decades of neglect and deterioration.
Thanks in large part to New York Cityâs efforts and its collaboration with private developers, the Kingâs Theater was the extensively renovated, restored to its former glory and has featured live music and stage performances since 2015.
In November of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself to attend the Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet at the Kingâs Theater and we absolutely enjoyed watching this show at this venue!!!
Upon visiting Kingâs Theater, both my wife and I were graciously welcomed and treated by the theaterâs staff, and we were unquestionably captivated by the theaterâs atmosphere and interior setting.
We were in awe of the beauty and glamour of the grand lobby and were equally impressed with the grandeur and opulence of the theaterâs auditorium, mezzanine level and stage.
My wife and I found our seats to be comfy and spacious, and it provided us with a quality view of the show.
We very much enjoyed the music and the superb performance of the cast featured in Nutcracker! Magic Christmas Ballet.
When traveling to Kingâs Theater, I recommend that you use public transportation because of limited street side parking and the parking lot located nearby is undergoing renovation.
Despite this setback, both my and I give a huge thumbs up to Kingâs Theater, rate it among our favorite performing arts venue and definitely recommend for others to visit there and watch live theatrical performances!!!
Youâll enjoy your time at the theater just as much...
Read moreI love a classic venue with outstanding staff that care and execute superior customer service. I have been at three concerts and all were great in that the sound quality and view, as well as a clean well kept venue. My first concert was Opeth, my second was BEAT and the third Emperor (all great concerts). I will be back for more! During the concert of Emperor right when the show started and I was seated, I realized I had dropped my phone. I was devastated and left my seat to retrace my steps and I felt helpless. With no other choice to contact the security staff, which I did not have any confidence that they could truly help because I felt at such a loss. I spoke with the security personnel and they assured me that although no one handed in the phone they would definitely keep my phone safe and not to worry as it will be there when they found it. They advised me not to stress and to enjoy the show. At the end of the show they allowed me to check the entire theater but I could not find it. However, the staff were so kind and helpful I left feeling better because of the way the staff went out of their way. to help me and were kind to my distraught self. The staff provided me with the phone number to the box office and two email addresses. regarding the lost and found and told me to contact them the next day, which I did. I went in person on on the next concert scheduled and I was thrilled that the box office staff indeed had my phone and returned my phone to me. I just wanted to thank ATG staff, the security staff and all the staff at The Kings Theater. Job well done again and I appreciate all your efforts to keep these venues running at such a high level. Unbelievable customer service needs to be recognized. I will be coming back to this venue! I wish Weezer and Electric Hot Tuna play...
