There are only two Subway stops in all of New York that are a museum related. The Brooklyn museum which is this one. And the other one is the museum natural History. They're the only two that have their own designated Subway stops.
The museum of natural History has an entrance for theirs to the museum straight from the subway.
This one this one has a exit that brings you right up to the museum to the right when your exiting. Inside the subway there are pieces of artwork that are attached to walls as you walk through the main entrances. A beautiful mosaics around each. It's so well done. They just recently put in a street level elevator in the last 2 years. Which makes access to this very helpful for people who need assistance and can't do stairs. Actually two different elevators one that goes to the street level and then one that goes to the turnstile so you can go into Subway and then it's immediately to the left and to the right both sides and get to the track level.
I highly recommend coming here mid-April. When the cherry trees blossom. You walk out and the trees are right there they just wash over you. by the end of the month the pedals fall and I actually cascade down into the subway all these pink little petals just floating down into the subway it's pretty wonderfully beautiful.
It's a surprisingly neat little Subway space. It makes accessing this wonderful museum so helpful. It's only 30 minute ride to 34th Street and...
