Garden Center at The Home Depot — Local services in New York

I searched online for mulch and according to the Home Depot in LIC they had several HUNDRED bags of different varieties available on site. I got in the car and drove a 1/2 hour only to be told there were none. Staffers were scratching their heads because their system said the mulch was there. Two employees went on a search but no luck. Weekend gardening project postponed. It was a frustrating shopping experience that leaves me doubting if I'll ever return. I search before I shop and old brick and mortar places like this need to get...

Update: Second year in a row noone helped with trees. Never coming again...

Nice tree selection and price but employees refused to help cut and wrap since closing was in 15 minutes. I asked the person to make an exception since after all it's a Christmas tree but he flatly said no. Home depot service has consistently gone down....

Over the years, I've come to expect very little in the way of help from the staff at Home Depot as it's part of the business model to under-staff a giant warehouse full of stuff. That said, this location is well-organized, generally, and the garden center is quite nice. Paint shop people are very truculent (probably overworked)...
