I’ve been going to Honey Nail Salon on Fulton Street for about a year now. The salon itself is very clean, and I’ve generally enjoyed the services I’ve received from the staff. The employees are professional, and I appreciate the quality of their work.
However, I do want to share feedback about the manager (the woman who is usually behind the desk with slicked-back hair). In my experience, her demeanor comes across as very aggressive. She often speaks to the employees in a way that feels more like talking down to them rather than talking with them. Her tone is harsh, and she tends to micromanage, hovering over the staff while they work.
On multiple occasions, she has also interfered with my services—interrupting to ask about pricing or what I was getting done—rather than allowing the service to flow naturally. I personally find this distracting and unprofessional, and it affects the otherwise good experience I have with the staff.
Because of this, it is very difficult for me to even enjoy a short visit in that space, and I will not be going to this salon again. I would prefer to either go to the Vanderbilt location, where the service and management are exceptional, or find a different salon altogether. Unfortunately, she has lost my business. On average, I typically spend $200–$250 per service, and I believe management and ownership should be mindful that her behavior is contributing to...
Read moreI went to Honey for a plethora of services before traveling for an upcoming event. This included a brow wax, lip wax, gel extensions & pedicure. The pedicure was great but we were unable to achieve the look I was going for for my nails (photo references attached.) After all of this I had my upper lip and eyebrows waxed, which is truly where I think things went wrong. For reference I have been professionally waxed for over 12 years and have never had a reaction whatsoever except once a few years ago using home wax strips from Sally Hansen. I couldn't see if the reason started right away but when I sat up to look my entire face was covered in white welts. My entire face was red, itchy, and on fire so I paid my $260 and left. I sat in my car with neosporion on my face and drove home to ice it. Even when I have had a "reaction" before it's been small scale and goes away after some aloe, however two days later and I still have welts covering my face. Overall I recommend Honey Nails for nails if you have some extra to spend, since it is pricy, but would highly recommend avoiding for any...
Read moreAfter anxiously waiting for this salon to open because it's closest to my house. I went to the honey nail salon on Fulton ere for the first time on Friday Feb 3 for a fill in. Julie did my nails. She took an unnecessary long time doing them and she kept filing and buffing them as if her life depended on it. After it was all said and done two and half hours later which normally when I get a fill in it's one hour to an hour 30 max. I paid and went home. The very next day my nail chipped. Tonight my other nail chipped. This is ridiculous especially for what I paid. I won't be returning. I should of just went to the one on Vanderbilt. They would of done a way better job in half the time and I received great service from them. Initially I loved my nails until they started to chip. Now as I'm thinking back I'm wondering why she used sculpting gel for my fill in. My real nails were very long and I asked to cut them down so it's not like she was sculpting me new nails. Next time I will wait for my regular technician. See below for the before and...
