TLDR; they changed the price of the service after they performed the service, 2xing it.
I met someone who had a great gelx manicure they shared they went to pure and it was 80 including design, so I went for a gel x manicure. I called ahead of time to confirm the service and pricing and was told the price was 80 including a design. I actually called in 2x because some time had passed and a friend was coming with. The manicure itself was good, but not worth it.
When I went to pay they charged me 2x the price. When I asked for clarification the woman at the front desk started speaking loudly saying no this was the price because they did design. (Full disclosure, I communicated with the technician and was not informed that I would be charged extra for a design. I showed inspiration but emphasized whatever you can do, or normally do that is similar to this).
I tried to share that I spoke with them on the phone, and the service sign says 80 for gel x, but she just ignored and started speaking loudly in the full salon saying something along the lines of no you should ask next time. It was really awkward experience and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Sharing this experience so that if you do chose to go here to make sure that there is a witness to the price confirmation before starting any service. This was very uncomfortable and awkward. It doesn't make sense that a simple design would cost the same amount as the service of gel x nails. I'm glad my friend ended up not getting a gel x manicure because that would have...
Read moreI went on the recommendation of my mother and pictures Iâve seen from their Instagram account. Contacted them at first for an appointment but was told walk-ins are welcomed. They ONLY accept cash so ensure to bring cash. I was serviced by Ming for a hard gel refill. She removed my old set before applying the new one. Her nail care service (cleaning and cutting cuticles) was better than some of the images Iâve seen. Personally I was not happy how she applied the gel as there are some areas that the gel color is light/missing. Or it does not look like a natural set as the gel is 1cm from my cuticle. She applied the gelish foundation then placed my hand under the UV/led light. Next were 2 separate coats of the gel colorâthis is where sections were missing or light then followed by the hard gel. Once this cured/dried she placed the remover liquid to ensure the stickiness was off my nail then placed a hot towel followed by lotion. I forgot to mention she ask how long/short I preferred my nail and once she removed my old set she had me wash my hands at the sink. Also I would suggest you make an appointment depending on the time you show up. Within 15-min of sitting/waiting there was an influx of people that showed up which pushed all service wait time...
Read moreI came here twice and both times my nails completely crumbled. I have been getting SNS for over 5 years, so I know how it should hold up. Iâve gone so long as 4.5 weeks between sets, but I regularly get them done every 3 weeks. Nevertheless, my set at Pure Nails broke within a week. Itâs very upsetting when my nails break because these are my real nails, and I work hard to grow them out. The biggest problem with this establishment is that it is cash only. The second time I came, I forgot to get cash. The manager was kind enough to let me pay via Apple Pay, but she claimed I had to pay tax (which doesnât make sense because you are getting your money instantly). I paid and the total was much higher than I expected ($100 for a polish change on my feet and dip manicure+ tax). I didnât leave a tip because the total was much higher than I expected, but the owner/manager kept pressuring me to leave a tip. It was very uncomfortable. Then to make matters worse, my manicure didnât even last. Itâs so frustrating to go to a nail salon where the manicure doesnât last, the prices are high (my designs were $10 per nail!), and the payment options are inconvenient. I...
