Very Concerning Business Practices. Meat that was brown upon pickup. Chopped Beef that smelled like Bacon and was fatty like bacon, one occasion where chopped Lamb was actually Beef. Who doesn’t know the difference in the smell and look? No similarity, it was beef. Shorted a pound of Meat (value 10.99) and accused of making it up when I spent over 100.00 a week. These are examples of my experience. 10-15 pounds of meat packed in one thin plastic bag that most of the time would break. Not double bagged or even split into multiple bags unless I asked for it and when I did it was like I was asking for something that cost more than 25 cents. The owner always defensive, never taking responsibility or assuming accountability for valid feedback. I never once asked to be refunded and I should have. Odd, Arrogant and Guilty behavior. Great news is this experience forced me to find alternatives. And I did, several actually! FRESH Red Beef, Smells like Fresh Meat, not bacon, packed in cloth bags or boxes. Lamb is Lamb. It was my first time going to this place, filet megnon was amazing, can’t get any better, hamburgers were great, i would rather my kids eat these hamburgers than any other junk . I liked it very much . Guys at the store were perfect, simple , straight, professional, just the way it is supposed to be . I just had to update my review after I got lamb yesterday. If you support free range and organic then it would be wise to support Hook and Rail Meats on Victory Blvd. near the SI Expressway. All their products are organic or freerange from local farms/ranches. I was excited when they opened and have been shopping here ever since. I am not savvy on all types of cuts nor how to cook them and the guys ALWAYS give me good advice when I ask. They are always friendly and helpful!
