Update: Those of us who are hard of hearing are very good at reading lips, body language and sensing the vibration that comes from someone speaking so as i mentioned, she was IGNORING me. Also, the deaf person was the white man who came in AFTER ME not at the same time, lying is a disgusting habit. However, I appreciate the apology and i suggest you do some re-training of your employees on racial bias and teaching etiquette, if not to encourage human decency then at least to avoid a lawsuit. Thank you!
The space is not welcoming to black women. I walked in and I, the customer, had to greet the host at the front desk. She also acted like she didn’t hear me ask “do i need heels” even though it was only me and her in a quiet lobby. A white man in my same class walked in after me and was immediately and cheerfully greeted by the same host. The class was NOT fun and very restrictive. I was expecting a feminine fun experience and it was the opposite. Suzanne-Michelle seemed like she didn’t want to be there after taking up class time venting about how she wanted to be an artist but ended up a pole dancing teacher instead. She was constantly talking down to us even though some of us had pole experience. We weren’t allowed to freestyle AT ALL and when she was asked to clarify a move she complained that she has to teach another class right after so she can only show it once quickly. I won’t be back and in fact I feel like I wasted my class...
Read moreI’m honestly surprised I haven’t written a review yet- I’ve been dancing at this studio for the past three years, and it truly feels like home! As a minority and a naturally shy person, finding a place where I feel welcomed, encouraged, and understood has meant the world to me. No matter how many breaks I’ve taken from dance, every time I come back, I’m greeted with open arms and genuine warmth.
The instructors here are absolutely amazing — so talented, knowledgeable, and full of passion. They don’t just teach steps, they inspire growth, confidence, and joy in every dancer! Huge shoutout to Daniel Darling, Sam D, Leah, Kitty, and Tamara for always bringing out the best in me and making every class something I look forward to.
I’ve recommended this studio to several friends, and every single one of them has fallen in love with it too. There’s something truly special about this place. I can promise you this place is more than just another nyc...
Read moreI had an amazing time at this studio. It was actually my first time here. Off the back, the studio environment felt very cozy, & the staff was very welcoming. Very clean space. I did a Beginners 2 Pole Class with Sam. Sam was absolutely amazing. She made sure to check in with everyone in the class each step of the way. She also remembered my name. There’s nothing like trying a new move & your instructor, who you just met a few minutes prior saying “YAAASSSS WHITNEY”. Like wow, she remembered my name haha. May sound silly, but it made me feel very welcomed. That’s huge for me. I was definitely challenged in this class, but absolutely motivated once it was over. They also sell clothing items, & dry hands which is awesome! I will definitely be back. Thanks Sam! Thanks...
