== updated review == After the massage session, I began experiencing sharp, radiating pain in my upper spine. About a week later, the pain worsened, and I saw a doctor who diagnosed it as a back injury, likely caused by improper technique during the massage. This has resulted in ongoing pain and medical bills, and it’s unclear how long the injury may take to fully resolve.
After my first review, the business did reach out, apologized, refunded the session, and offered free future massages, which I appreciate. However, the damage at this point is not something that a refund or free sessions can undo.
As I mentioned earlier, the therapist (Kate) repeatedly pressed directly on the spine and used her arms and elbows in ways that felt unsafe during the session. There was also a significant language barrier, which made it difficult to communicate discomfort in real time.
I’ve had good experiences here before with other therapists, but this incident reflects a lack of consistent standards in training and communication. I hope the business takes stronger steps to ensure safety and qualification across all staff to prevent future harm to clients.
original review == Try to avoid “Kate” - her massage was inexperienced. Kept pushing spines instead of working on muscles, and applied pressures on wrong pressure points. Her work with fingers were fine, but she was really inexperienced on where to put pressure and how much when she was using her arms and elbows. Throughout the session, I was worried about getting injured from the massage. Also, I don’t think Kate understands English well, which adds to the frustration when trying to communicate pain during the session. (I have worked with other therapists from this place who were fine, but occasionally they have inexperienced and possibly not licensed or qualified...
Read moreHorrible experience. I would rate zero stars if possible. This place is a scam. Once I arrived I had a feeling this is not a massage place it’s on the 17th floor no receptionist and a bunch of rooms with do not disturb signs hanging on the knobs. You can clearly hear there are people inside and no one came out to assist me. I booked a deep tissue massage through class pass because it was close to work. I even called and spoke to a female that said her name is Boo and I confirmed my appointment with her. When I arrived for my appointment the door to the massage room was open but no one was there to greet me. No receptionist, just a room with a few doors that had do not disturb signs hanging on the knob. I called the business number several times and no answer and left several messages as I had an appointment. I waited for almost an hour thinking maybe the masseuse is running behind schedule as I hear movement in the rooms. After I left No one ever returned my calls to follow up on my scheduled deep tissue massage. This place is unprofessional and unorganized. This is being discussed with class pass to have them removed from their selected options. Waste of time and money. With plenty other options in the neighborhood I suggest you go else where and actually receive a massage. This may even be a sex parlor who...
