Stay away!!!! We bought a house that has been serviced by Montalbano's before and decided not to change. We never had a pool before and knew nothing about any pool equipment not maintenance. We agreed to upgrade our pool from chlorine to salt water system and paid for a generator that has been advised (Reliant), after the installation we noticed that the generator installed was almost an exact replica of the original Hayward, but had not even one single label nor a logo on it. When we questioned Montalbano's, they insisted that this was an original unit, however we could never receive any proof of that. The entire summer we struggled with water quality, the generator never produced enough chlorine even working for 24 hours on the 100% production. We've been to different pool shops at least twice a week buying more and more chemicals trying to balance our water, we had to hard shock the water at least once a week spending hundreds of dollars on it. And if we delayed the shock by a day or two- the water would go cloudy. We contacted different managers at Montalbano's multiple times asking for assessment and warranty replacement of a unit ( it was obviously malfunctioning) but were always laughed at and ignored. By the end of the summer we hated that we bought a house with a pool and couldn't wait to close it. Right before the scheduled closing, there was a huge storm which washed off lots of dirt to the pool. We suggested Montalbano's techs to clean it completely first and then close it- but they assured us that it's not a big deal- it's ok to close the pool as is! ( again we did not know how it's supposed to be) Fast forward to this spring: we did a lot of research and self education and decided to open the pool by ourselves. When we did so- it was nasty, dirty, with bright green algae all over it. It took a lot of $$ again to clean it and we replaced the faulty salt generator at our own expense with an original Hayward ( $940). If I could I would put no stars! We waited 2 days for them to come, took off a day of work and no one came or picked up the phone. Finally, they sent two people, who said that they were “offside workers” and almost broke my newly replaced $5,000 system.
