Pace's Italian Market — Local services in New York

I recently visited Pace's Italian Market, and I must say I was thoroughly disappointed. From the moment I walked in, it felt like I was being taken for a ride. The prices of items seemed to change on a whim, and it felt like the owner was just making up numbers as he went along. I’ve never experienced such a lack of transparency in pricing before. The quality of the products didn’t justify the random and inflated prices either. It’s frustrating to think you’re paying for something special, only to find out it’s not worth the steep cost. Excellent service and high-quality products✨ I know the store for many years, and I am always welcomed with a warm salute and offered multiple taste options until I find the what I like. The products are always fresh, authentic, and with a reasonable price. My favorites are Trufa cheese and Sicilian olive oil. There is an additional value of supporting a local business in The Bronx, family-owned, and keeping the Italian traditions running, which is extremely valuable. I'd give this a zero if I could. I've been going to this shop for decades. Since it's had new owners it's a total rip off. No prices on anything. I bought a pound of parmigiano, a pound of provolone & a half pound of blue cheese olives and it was $65!! Granted I didn't ask the price but I never did because the prices were always so reasonable. Nor did they tell me the price of anything. $20 per pound for olives???? DO NOT GO HERE. You can get all these things of better quality elsewhere on Arthur Avenue. The olives were mushy & the parmigiano isn't great....
