Very Disappointing Stay – I Won’t Be Returning

I’ve stayed at several Holiday Inn locations across places like Colorado and Texas, and I’ve always had great experiences—until this one.

From the moment I checked in, things went downhill. I was given the wrong key and accidentally walked into someone else’s room. It was terrifying. Imagine if the guest was undressed or thought I was trying to steal something. That kind of mistake is unacceptable and unsafe.

To make matters worse, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, especially the fair, chubby staff member. There were no basic toiletries like toothpaste or a toothbrush in the room, which should be standard without needing to ask. The breakfast was poor—I arrived early, yet there were barely any options and the fruit was clearly not fresh.

The walkways smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. All of this combined made for a very unpleasant experience.

The place was new so I thought I'd give it a shot. The room was on the small side and came with half a toilet paper roll and 1 tissue remaining. As a IHG platinum member I didn't get an upgrade nor a welcome amenity. The morning check out experience was horrible as there was no one at the front desk until an employee had to reluctantly slide her feet to the front desk from the breakfast area. I wanted to update my payment method before check out and she said she didn't know if she could do that (it's pretty standard at a hotel). After typing silently for a few minutes she goes to the back without explanation because apparently she needs the managers help with this. I've never been to NY. Did not know there was no property parking there. Everywhere you went you had to find a space on the street..which was ridiculous. So, I found a space ways from the hotel amd had to walk down the street with all my luggage. Smh. The employees never greeted us anytime we came in. The lady in charge of breakfast didn't greet any of the guest that were coming down or nothing. Matter fact she made her a plate of food. The hotel did not make me & my guest feel welcomed whatsoever..it was like whatever with that establishment. No name tags. They were dressed in their regular clothing. The hotel was directly across from a freaking hospital. It was the worse. The wash cloths & towels had hairs from previous users still...
