On Friday, August 16, 2019 I was trying to make a purchase and I was very disappointed with my experience. I tried to write a complaint privately on the Bergen Bagel website, however the site for some reason could not send it process that message and now I unfortunately have to make a public complaint, since it seems the owners respond better to Google and Yelp reviews.

This is in regards to your Fulton Street & Washington street Bergen Bagel location. There have been a few incidences where my co worker and I wanted to make a purchase and found that we were being overcharged or the order was incorrect and they were not very hospitable about changing the order. My coworker noticed that there was a time she ordered 2 muffins @ $3.25 each and instead of charging her $6.50, they charged her $7.50, then two days ago, she ordered a turkey sandwich and they gave her ham...which she cannot eat for dietary purposes and needed to spit it back out. They didn't want to change it at first because they said that it was a while since she made the order. We work at a daycare and we don't get to eat our breakfast until later at times and so it was a bit later, but she still had the bag and wrapper for Bergen Bagels...and she used to go there everyday. So today I went for both of us to get 2 muffins and they tried to charge me $3.75. I told them the board has $3.25 written next to the word muffin. The cashier was unable to locate the item on the menu board, so I pointed it out and he then called the manager. They both mentioned that it was no tax and I told them even with tax, according to the menu board the muffin would still be less than $3.75 and then the manager took out a paper menu and told me to check for myself at which point I told him, they needed to honor the price $3.25, because that's the price I saw on the board, even Michael..I guess one of the owners according to Google reviews states that the wall is there so that there would be less confusion about pricing and if that's not the correct price they needed to change it. The manager did not even act sympathetic, apologize or act as if he didn't know it. When I mentioned I would file a complaint, he asked where (as if he couldn't get in trouble) and I told him I would find the corporate number or somewhere to complain to. He even said the board is not easy to change, as an excuse, so then why have that board if you are not even going by those prices. The manager and the cashier need to be fired and replaced. The customer before me felt her order was overcharged...it was $32 dollars and she calculated it to be around $27. When she asked the cashier how much was the tax, he could not even tell her 8.875% and the manager told her it was because she ordered tomato... What tomato costs $5.00??? The manager does not know how to deal with customer service and this place could be the place my coworker and I go for breakfast or lunch everyday and now you will be losing business because the manager and workers there don't know how to be professional. They are even on the phone ignoring customers at times (which was the previous experience before this experience that I...

Rudest staff you can imagine. Ordered food at 9:40, got my food by 9:45 and put my stuff down for a minute while I updated a work order on my phone and took a call, by 9:51 I was being reprimanded and told off by an employee like I was loitering. People stay to eat their breakfast and spend an average of 10-15minutes and I figured I would get afforded the same liberty but apparently because I wasn’t immediately eating I get to be disrespected. I was a regular and spent about 20$ a day at this location and now they lost my business. And just to anticipate the reply from the business, originally I was staying at the location for 20min or so while I drank my coffee and waited for my first service call to start and the first time this happened they informed me that their policy is people can’t remain on location and I understood, but regardless they allow people to eat their breakfast and I assumed they just didn’t want people staying longer then 10-15min, but today I was reprimanded anyway and it seriously rubbed me the wrong way. Especially since I was accosted the minute I was preparing to leave since I didn’t want to stay past the 10-15min limit. But what ever, I will be avoiding them from now on and who ever handles hiring should fire their front counter worker or teach them how to properly treat customers and not bring bad attitudes to work. I almost never leave reviews and it’s a total waste of my time that I had to leave a review in the first place. And if your going to act this way then all customers should be treated the same. Picking and choosing when to enforce is bad business and...

Let me start with I should have read the reviews first! It's been a couple years since I purchased from this establishment. I usually order in person. Today I placed a order online for delivery because of the rain. Items seemed overpriced but we thought it would be worth it considering it is a bagel store that supposedly bakes it's own bread. My coworkers & I ordered breakfast sandwiches, croissants, and a chicken salad. When the order arrived, the bag was WET, RIPPED on the side and NEVER SEALED after the order was ready to go. ALL THE BAGELS & CROISSANTS ARE STALE!!! HARD as a ROCK! Sandwiches missing added ingredients. The Chicken salad was obviously made days ago and you could taste they mixed in a fresher mayo to help cover up the old taste. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS establishment again I dont care what location it is!! If it wasn't for a really busy day at work. I would have taken the entire order back myself!! OVER-PRICED STALE FOOD!...

HORRIBLE! Customer service is a challenge. Giving attitude for ordering by phone. Then when you show up to pick up the order they say you're going to have to wait. REALLY? LAST TIME ORDERING FROM HERE. I would like to add that this was not a peak time nor were many people in the store when I arrived. There were two people behind the counter and two people, plus myself on the other side of the counter. My order should have already been completed since I called 45 minutes prior to arriving. Your reply makes it seems as though it is ok to give poor service during peak times. This is when YOUR STAFF should excel at providing GREAT service. I know, I've worked in this very position for many years.

I love this place! Whenever I have friends in town, I make sure to take them to Bergen Bagels so they can try one. It never disappoints! I used to live near here and I was a regular. The staff is so pleasant and positive. I've honestly never had a negative interaction with anyone who works there, which is a pretty rare occurrence in my book. Great food, great people, great service. Highly recommend!
