If you’re looking for a magical way to experience New York City from the water, I highly recommend booking a sunset sail with Sailaway NYC. It was truly one of the most memorable and breathtaking evenings I’ve had in the city. The boat departs from a convenient pier right in Manhattan, which makes getting there incredibly easy whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town. The check-in process was smooth and friendly, and everything was well-organized from the start. Once onboard, the journey quickly turned from pleasant to unforgettable. As we set sail along the Hudson, the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow across the water and city skyline. The views of downtown Manhattan, the Financial District, and the Statue of Liberty were absolutely stunning — like something straight out of a postcard. Watching the sun dip behind the skyline while feeling the breeze on the open water was peaceful, romantic, and awe-inspiring all at once. The food and drinks onboard were another highlight. We were served a beautifully arranged cheese platter, fresh fruits, and light snacks, which were both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The drinks were top-notch — I had a Mimosa and an Aperol Spritz, both perfectly mixed and refreshing. It felt like a luxury experience but in a very relaxed and welcoming setting. The crew was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about making the sail enjoyable for everyone. They struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving guests space to relax and soak in the views. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want to escape the city hustle for a few hours, Sailaway NYC offers an experience that is both relaxing and visually unforgettable. I can’t recommend it enough — it’s the perfect way to see New York from a new and magical perspective.

Booked a private 2 hour charter with Sailaway NY to celebrate my birthday with a few friends. Captain Andrew was AWESOME! He made us instantly feel welcome and was very knowledgable about the boat and put us all at ease (most of us have never sailed quite like this before)! He was super accommodating, asked what we would like to see on our ride, we had a good time chatting it up with him and he took great care of us. The boat itself was clean, had everything we could need (fridge, extra water, bathroom, etc.). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something new and fun to do in NYC or if you have anyone visiting from out of town that would like the full experience of sight seeing in the city! Can't recommend Sailaway NY and Captain Andy enough.

The absolute best experience with captain naomi, rob and marie. they went above and beyond to help my fiance set up a birthday/proposal surprise and I was so overwhelmed by how kind they were and how helpful they were at setting expectations, photographing us and helping us with anything we asked for. i couldn’t recommend this crew enough especially capt naomi who is SUCH an impressive force at the wheel, we barely had any rough waters despite high winds, we got to see everything we wanted and more. if you want an intimate experience with your loved ones that youll never forget book with naomi i promise you will not regret it!!

Booked a two hour trip with captain Joe with his boat Mercedes. It was a great trip until at the end which was very unpleasant. We paid $1100 for the trip a couple days before our boat ride. At the end of our boat ride we left a cash gratuity for captain Joe however captain Joe was not satisfied with the gratuity that we left him, and was demanding us that we have to leave him more which is 18% or more. I explained to captain Joe that's all the cash we had but he was very aggressive and demanding, and insisted that we leave him an 18% tip with the credit card we have on file. I kept telling captain Joe that we cannot afford to give him an 18% gratuity which is equivalent to $210 but he did not accept that and kept demanding us that we leave him his 18% gratuity. We ended up leaving him the 18% gratuity since he was very demanding saying that's how he makes his money. We paid $1100 for the trip and a gratuity of $210 which totals to $1310. I did not know that giving gratuity was mandatory. I always thought that giving gratuity is based on the customer's decision and discretion. Is the captain not getting paid by sailaway with the $1100 we paid for our trip ? This was a very embarrassing and horrible experience for myself and my wife because we have never experience this kind of behaviour before, and because this is our third time going on boat trips with sailaway and we have never had this experience before. Anyway i checked the credit card and the 18% gratuity was charged on our card. Its ok but this is the last time we will be booking a boat with this company. Never again. What a...

Plain and simple…don’t mess around with anyone else - choose SailawayNY. I thoroughly researched just about every other NYC Private Sailing Yacht company before choosing SailawayNY - and ultimately I chose SailawayNY because they had the nicest boats, the best website & best packages…but when I physically got to my charter, it was abundantly clear that I had made the right choice. I chose the ā€œPrivate Yacht Dinner For Twoā€ to surprise my wife for our first wedding anniversary and we were absolutely blown away in every way imaginable. Captain Naomi of sailing yacht Julia not only put on a masterful performance as our captain, but she was completely available for all of my questions prior to our charter. She was available through text and answered every single question I had, including best available parking options. I cannot say enough about Captain Naomi, she was as fabulous a captain as she is a person. Our charter also included Chef Diane, who by all means, was equally as fabulous. Wonderful person, professional, top-notch chef. My wife (vegetarian) enjoyed the most delicious fresh Pesto Pasta and Kale Salad - I had the most delicious salmon I’ve ever had in my life (and I’ve had a lot of good salmon). This was unforgettable. I’ll absolutely be back and will never deviate from SailawayNY - let me tell you, if you’ve made it this far reading this review, you now know that they do it right & in the highest and greatest capacity. It...
