Others have said it, we have said it ! What a great place to stay . A little story, after a night out on Broadway and a beautiful walk back among the hustle and bustle of NYC, we turned the corner on W22nd St and enter a beautiful quiet neighborhood back to our NYC apartment ! ! ! The neighborhood has great restaurants (Chelsea Square Diner and Don Giovnnni are favorites for comfort food after the usual delicious and rich foods of NYC and others (too many to mention) in Chelsea itself). Karen knows everything and everywhere, with great stories and advice. The next trip will be our 4th time staying at A Garden in Chelsea and could not imagine anywhere else ! ! !

We stayed in the garden level. Access is down the basement hallway, but it leads to a large room with kitchenette, table for two+, comfy bed and chairs, and modern bath. With door opening to the sunny back garden, perfect for breakfast coffee, and evening glass of wine!

We just returned from five nights staying with Karen and Paul at A Garden in Chelsea. What a wonderful find with such gracious hosts.

The accommodations are terrific. We stayed in the one bedroom unit on the third floor which was bright and airy, and quite spacious for anyplace in New York City. There is plenty of room to relax and unwind after hectic sightseeing days. Having a full kitchen is great, as we prefer to cook breakfast before venturing out. The bedroom in back is very quiet – you would hardly know you were in a large city.

The location cannot be beat – close to the HighLine, Chelsea Market, lots of great restaurants, groceries stores and easy access to the subway.

Karen was extremely helpful even before we arrived. She provided us with lots of good information and recommendations which we definitely followed and all were fantastic. It was wonderful that we were able to drop our bags off early on our arrival day, and also leave them later than check out time on our departure day, allowing us many extra hours to explore NYC. She also booked us a car to return to the airport, which was a very nice, stress-free way to end our travels.

Many thanks to Karen and Paul for sharing their marvelous place in a wonderful city. We did not see everything we wanted, so we will...

The 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed for 5 nights at the end of September/beginning of October and enjoyed this cozy place that really felt like being home. Our children had ample room to play games, draw, and spread out on the queen-sized pull-out sofa bed in the large living room, and the bedroom was spacious as well. The sheets and towels were very good quality. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals and eat as a family at the dining table. Although we had already planned out our activities, Karen and Paul were full of great tips and guidance - they are both so warm and generous. The subways connected to everywhere we wanted to go, and we enjoyed walking in the beautiful neighborhood. We also felt very safe on this street, which is quiet - and with our white noisemakers we always take on travel, we all slept well every night. We would definitely stay again - thank you...

Been coming to this little slice of heaven for many years and would highly recommend a visit. Karen is the BEST to work with and the apartment is very spacious, spotlessly clean and in the heart of Chelsea. The High Line entrance is one block away and the subway entrance two blocks away. You can get anywhere from here. Quiet street with a large park on the corner. The apartment comes with all of the amenities you need for a short term or long term stay. The bed and the pullout couch are both very comfortable. There is a small bodega right on the corner for your everyday needs. Lots of great restaurants are within walking distance. Karen is always welcoming and thoughtful of your needs. We love being "NEW YORKERS" for our stay and what a great alternative to a small, cramped hotel room. LOVE this place and would give it 10 stars...
