We decided we would try the Market 57 foodhall at Pier 57 as we were visiting the Rooftop Park at Pier 57 before exploring Little Island next door and walking the High Line nearby. There are many different cuisine options in the large, airy & spacious food hall, however, I don't know how genuine or authentic the foods at many of the stalls were as they were cooked by Latino chefs e.g. at the Chinese dim sum 'Nom Wah' stall and at the Japanese fried chicken 'Bessou' stall?🤔 After a good look around all of the different stalls, my wife decided she would have a traditional NY hot dog from the 'New York's Best Damn Hotdog', which was tasty but served in a bun that was too soft and crumbled in her hands as she was eating, making it a damn messy eat! I chose to get the boneless jerk chicken in a bowl with fries from Lolo's, which was absolutely delicious, with a large amount of smokey, tender, tasty jerk chicken served with a flavourful pineapple sauce, a couple of pieces of juicy plantain and a large helping of fries. We had a glass of delicious IPA beer from the Harlem Hops stall with our food and for desert I had a vanilla soft serve ice cream with chopped walnuts, hazelnuts and Marie cake toppings from the Mijo Mexican kitchen stall, which was...

Went here on a Monday so it wasn’t as packed as I was expecting. There are a lot of stalls from Mexican to East Asian dishes. There’s also a few that serve dessert.
The prices are definitely expensive for the portion you get. Probably has something to do with the location. The quality and taste of the food are good, but I wish they are more decently priced. We tried 5 stalls and all were a bit pricey. I also wish some stalls would indicate how many pieces you’ll be getting in their menu.
Next, the staff are all nice and friendly! They work at stalls but they serve better than other restaurants (lol). Hope they keep the same level of service. There are seats with the view of Little Island which is nice.
I’d probably go back one last time to try other stalls (so I could say I tried all of them!), but it’s definitely not a place...
Read moreThis James Beard curated food court has a number of stalls from highly rated local restaurants. I went to Zaab Zaab (having duck larb, and Thai cerviche), as well as Noh Wah Tea Parlor (having a crispy chicken bun). The food was very flavorful but not as good as the original restaurant. However, what I really noticed was that the price is high for the portion size compared to the original restaurant. I was most disappointed in the Thai cerviche which had two shrimp with sauce on top for $12. There is an area called Good to Go, which has special dishes from JB awarded chefs on a rotating basis. I wish I saw this before I bought my dishes. Overall I am not impressed with food courts, where convenience and speed tops quality, but the if you have the money, this one is...
