A Must Visit Exceptional Service & Incredible Food!
Where to start? As regulars at Chelsea Market, we frequent many spots, but we never thought we’d take the time to write a review until now. Lobster Place completely exceeded our expectations, especially thanks to the outstanding service from a young lady named Shantey. Her warm welcome, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made our visit unforgettable. We initially stopped by for their amazing Valentine’s Day deal and were instantly impressed. Though we usually come for sushi, this time we explored more of the menu. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the kindest host, who patiently explained how to order, highlighted popular dishes, shared current deals, and even helped me choose oysters. Her recommendations were spot on! We ended up spending the whole day hopping from one station to another. The oysters were unbelievably fresh, the Valentine’s sushi roll was phenomenal, and the steamed lobster was absolute perfection. While the dessert wasn’t quite to my taste (I’m not big on sweets), I still appreciated trying something new. The soup wasn’t my favorite, but it was a unique experience. As we were leaving, we made sure to find Shantey to thank her, and she enthusiastically suggested more must try items for our next visit. We were so excited that we came back the very next day! This time, we indulged in the lobster poutine, fish and chips, uni, and king crab legs each dish better than the last. To top it off, Shantey recognized us from afar and welcomed us back with the same warmth as before. If you’re hesitant about visiting Lobster Place because it’s a popular tourist spot don’t be. The quality of food, freshness, and exceptional service make it an absolute gem. We’ve officially become Lobster Place fans, and we can’t wait for our next visit. Huge thanks to Shantey and the entire...
Read moreRecently visited the Lobster Place on June 17th, 2024, and my experience was subpar. I often come here to enjoy their raw bar; however, this time, the service was disappointing, deterring me probably from coming ever again. 1) the woman wearing grey (waitress) came over to me to place my order, but she seemed annoyed, uninterested, and overall, made me feel like not tipping. I, however, did tip only because she was staring at the card reader and the tip options and for the sake of the chefs responsible for preparing the raw foods. But, shortly after, one chef did give me problems, making me regret my tip. After waiting 30 minutes for only a small order (keep in mind the place wasn't too busy and order numbers far after my order number were being called... in addition, I can see people coming in AFTER my order get their order before me) they still have not prepared my food! So, I hit up one of the chefs (a tall, Black male with a scruffy beard and eyes that pointed in different directions) and inquired on my order. He proceeded to say they are working on it and "be patient." So, I sat back down and reflected on what had just happened. Ultimately decided to not eat there and to get a refund, went to one of the waiters wearing grey and requested for that refund (this one was nice and apologized, despite it not being his fault). The chef did apologize, but then had the audacity to say they lost the ticket and then to "be patient again." I told him I got a refund and then turned around and went back to work without saying anything to me. This experience was annoying, and I likely won't...
Read moreMy recent visit to this restaurant left much to be desired. Despite its prime location in Chelsea Market, several disappointments spoiled the overall experience. While I understand that dining in the city can be pricey, the cost of our meal felt unjustifiably high given the quality we received. Upon arriving, we approached the point of sale to place our order. Tip options were automatically shown (as is the case in most places these days). Opting to enjoy our meal at the sushi bar, we were met with an unexpected hurdle. Despite the sushi bar being our preferred seating choice and being available when we ordered, we were informed that our order was categorized as a "takeout" and therefore, sitting at the sushi bar was not permitted. This left us perplexed, as we had paid the same price as those seated around us and had even been charged a tip. We had to argue for a few minutes with the manager in order to secure seats, given the absence of available alternatives in the entire establishment. As for the culinary experience, the sushi itself was just ok, albeit overshadowed by the feeling of overpricing. The flavors failed to justify the steep cost, leaving us with a sense of disillusionment. In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant was a mix of frustration and disbelief. The misleading nature of the seating arrangement, coupled with the less-than-stellar value of the food, left me with an overall sense of dismay. I had hoped for a good dining experience, particularly given the restaurant's location and reputation, but sadly, this was...
