Must first say that I scouted the area from E. 69th St., until I found Sook nails on E. 26th St. many of the salons had dirty front windows which made me pass them by easily. Others were unkempt and not the cleanest places inside still others, just had an uncomfortable feeling I finally found Sook nail salon on East, 26 street quite a ways away, and I was instantly satisfied with the welcoming, cleanliness, comfort, integrity and professionalism. I felt like I had been going there for a years. While It is not fancy and frilly. The woman then proceeded to say I don’t think you should get that because your skin is too dark! I was in disbelief! I let the lady paint my toes french tip just to show her that people of African American descent can get ANY COLOR on their skin! I wish it was another nail salon near me that was open today because I would’ve never let them do ANYTHING! and then her co worker knew she said something wrong because she kept coming to me to complement my toes and then asked me if I was okay.    Read moreI come to this salon often to get my manicures and sometimes pedicures, which are the best by the way (spa pedicures). The ladies at the store are very nice and respectful. They did a very good job on reopening after the NYC shutdown. They check temperatures as soon as you walk in, always require a mask to enter, sanitize the seats after every use, and maintain social distancing.
