The Children's Place — Local services in New York

I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The staff there have no basic manners when dealing with customers. Given that it’s a children’s store, it’s expected that mothers will bring kids along. However, the staff clearly seemed annoyed by the presence of children.

A rack accidentally fell when my child brushed against it, and before he could even explain/apologize, a staff member started shouting at him in front of everyone. They made remarks in Spanish, which I found disrespectful and exclusionary. To make things worse, they refused to let me complete my purchase until I helped pick up the rack. I said I’d do it after paying, and I did — but the rude attitude continued, and my child was so shaken that he now refuses to go back.

If this store is meant to serve children and families, the management seriously needs to train staff on how to interact appropriately with kids and parents. No child should be made to feel ashamed or afraid in a place that...

My experience there was horrible. The staff and workers there are absolutely disgusting, they’re behavior is even worse. I went to shop for my daughter there and this worker next to me was giving me the dirtiest looks while talking to someone with her earphones on. When I went to ask if they had my daughters size she gave me a annoyed look and said I don’t know. Since she obviously wasn’t helping, I go and start looking myself. She then threw down the clothes she was folding and screams excuse me, you can move now. The manager heard her scream at me and came over and was able to get her to stop. When I was leaving she kept putting up the middle finger up at me and mouthing curses until I left. When I came here to write a review about the disgusting service, I saw I wasn’t the only one. Most vile, disrespectful service imaginable. They do not open at 11. My mother went at the opening time and they refused to open the doors. She knocked and the woman at the store refused to open, instead yelling at her and calling her disrespectful. They only opened at 11:15 after letting in a second employee who was doing a “coffee run” for the first employee and a worker on the street. What kind of unprofessional self indulgent behavior is this?

When my mother and other customers finally came in and complained, they refused her service. Despite being aggressive, disrespectful, and verbally violent themselves, they gaslight the customers and refused service claiming they felt “unsafe” when they were the ones completely inhospitable and rude from the get-go.

This kind of nasty attitude is beyond unacceptable. Corporate should and will be notified and action must be taken. Do not come to this location...
