Unfortunate, I feel so sorry to have to say this, but yesterday, Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:37 pm, I went to the Western Beef Supermarket located at 3629 White Plains Rd, Bronx NY 10467, which I am a customer since several years, also all my families always do all the purchases at this supermarket, and since I was ready to pay at the register, a lady named Mary said to me, in a rude manner and disrespectful way: "I have to check your bag", in front of a lot of customers, which were behind me in the line.
I asked the lady, why is that? Which she replied: "because, you entered to the store with other bag, then I asked her, if there is any security person or anyone checking the customer bags before entering the supermarket, because, is that so, that was new for me, since I have several years coming to that store. Then, I proceeded to show her the receipt that I had from the purchases that I made from the other store, however, she continued with a really bad attitude toward me.
I was so embarrassed at that time in front of others customers that were entering to the supermarket with others bags and she never checked them up and they all stayed looking at me. I felt discriminated by this supermarket and so embarrassed by this lady.
But, that's not the first time, that the staff from this supermarket shows such as behavior, approximately 4 months ago, my cousin went to the same supermarket and found an item on sales, but when he approached to the register, the cashier told him that, the sale doesn’t exist anymore, then he showed her a picture he took, then she said: "don’t worry, I'll change the item’ price right away".
Then, she went to the sales shelf and changed the sales and charged him the item with the original price or the previous price without the discount that was marked in the label on sales.
All my family and I, are considering to change to other supermarket due to the bad aptitude and disrespectful ways that the Western Beef Supermarket treats the customers.
Also, we're trying to find out if the CEO or general manager of the Western Beef Supermarket network, receive this information and try to act as soon as possible against this bad aptitude from the staff, before this supermarket stays...
Read moreOn 1/27/25 I purchased some items which included sweet potatoes that were 89 cents per pound. After I paid for everything I checked my receipt and discovered I had been charged 1.29 per lb. I asked this heavy set man with black glasses named Daniel P. to please check the price on the potatoes because I was charged the wrong price. He went and checked, came back and told me they were 1.49 per lb which was totally wrong because they had turnips next to the potatoes and the sign clearly said turnips 1.49 per lb. I even went over there to show him what the sign had said and the nasty attitude he gave me was totally unnecessary. I told him to please give me a refund for the potatoes and he got smart and said something under his breath. I was going ask him what he said but I didn't because it would have been an argument and I don't have time for ignorant people. He needs to learn how to treat customers because we are the ones that keep those doors open by spending our money in there with all the price gouging that they do.Just for the record I will not spend another dime in that store due to the rudeness of Daniel P. Y'all need to replace him because his attitude is going to stop making people...
Read moreStore overall looks clean, unfortunately some of their products are expired. Bought some items a few days ago didn’t realize that one item in particular was expired (7/11/25) when I noticed today that the cashews were no longer good due to realizing there was mold after I soaked and let them dry. One of their workers who’s oversees that area said he wouldn’t be able to do anything due to certain factors. I could understand if I was being rude or the situation was a different one but you’re in an industry of business, supply and demand. First and foremost there shouldn’t be any expired products on the shelves in the first place so like that there is no discrepancies when a consumer purchases an item. His argument is that I should have never eaten more than half of the cashews and returned it right away, my statement is that I didn’t realize the product was even expired nor would have there been an issue if the item wasn’t even on the shelf in the first place. If that expired cashew product wasn’t sellable then there wouldn’t have been a return or an issue. Markets, ya gotta do better if ya don’t want to be sued in the future. The food we consume has a huge affect on our health, keep...
