This is my third time going to this shop and I am so disappointed. Here’s why: My hair is completely damaged after this appointment (crochet braids). They were pulling and twisting like my hair wasn’t attached to my scalp. I have extremely thick hair and I lost FISTFULLS of hair after this. I’m traumatized. The braids looked bulky as hell. I took them out after 2 weeks because I couldn’t go outside looking terrible anymore (didn’t want my money to go to waste but damn). The stylist even kept saying “I could do nice box braids next time”…hinting at the fact that she knew it came out terrible. The stylist kept stopping for just about everything (phone calls, bathroom breaks, other customers, you name it). One bathroom break took damn near 20 mins. She kept switching with her heavy handed sister without notice. I ended up with two different install patterns.

They’ve always been a little pricey and even neglected to return products I purchased after using but I liked them because they were family ran and the shop is a decent size. But neither of those things matter when they pay so little care to the health of your hair. They seem like they don’t care whether they cause breakage or other damage. will...

I had a truly wonderful experience visiting Jay’s! I called Sunday morning, about an hour before I arrived wondering if I could be serviced. They said I could come whenever I wanted. When I came in, I was greeted and inquired about services, and immediately received help. Not even five minutes and I was picking out what kind of hair I wanted For knotless box braids with added curly hair. All of the ladies were very nice and respectful, and worked so quickly too! You couldn’t beat the price if you tried! Hair included and since they are also a beauty supply store if you don’t have enough or what you want they have it all! This was the best hair braiding experience I’ve ever had, and cannot wait to come back and bring my loved ones. Looking forward to seeing my braider...
