4 weeks ago I went to World's Fair Tattoo looking for a tattoo that would reflect some of my lifes milestones. I knew my phrase, and that I wanted to feature a semi-colon. But I'm not an artist & needed guidance. Also, as an older client, I needed advice on placement and aging skin.
I worked with Johan, who was great! He listened to my ideas, what these elements meant to my life, and he came up with a thoughtful, elegant, battleworn shield with my phrase & symbol. He placed & moved the stencil several times until it was perfectly placed, I especially liked his willingness to show me different fonts, sizes, etc, until I was PERFECTLY HAPPY.
I was a walk-in but I left floating on air. It's only my 2nd tattoo, but I'm 59F, with high standards but a frugal outlook. So even though it was a little more pricey than I expected, it was WORTH EVERY PENNY + GOOD TIP. The price was a bargain compared to famous or bougie shops in the city. When I showed others (hubby, son, his friends, my friends, etc) they were quite impressed with the work, esp the shading.
Worlds Fair also excels in ambience. They're friendly & approachable, patient & enthusiastic. The shop is fun too bcz it's decorated with some of the coolest collections I've ever seen.
I've since been back - but that's...
Read moreI was holding off on writing a review, but I have to. I would like to preface by saying that I adore the art and the craft of all of the people that work at this site. Extremely beautiful work and everyone there is so kind.
I tried giving them a shot for a navel piercing in December as a birthday gift to myself. Unfortunately the bar was too short/the piercing didn’t suit my anatomy, and I ended up getting an infection.
Some time in January, I went back and ended up getting the bar removed. It was really painful and I was leaking fluids for quite some time. I was told that a new, longer bar and complimentary piercing service would be provided to me once I was all healed up.
I called to follow up a few times to let them know how I was doing and that I was still interested in getting pierced. They told me they would call once they had a new bar for me to get placed.
Once I was healed, around March or so, I headed back to the studio. They checked to make sure I was healed, but told me that they still didn’t have a bar, and again I was told I would get a call once a new bar was received.
It’s July. I’m left with a scar and no piercing, which cost me $50+. I’m disappointed and won’t be returning, but I do wish this business all the best. Maybe piercings just aren’t...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this salon. I came for a nose piercing, but the whole process was unprofessional and concerning. The person who did the piercing did not wear gloves and didn’t use any numbing product. The piercing material itself was of very poor quality — definitely not safe for sensitive skin.
It’s been 4 months and I still have redness and a bump around the piercing area. I’ve had my nose pierced three times before and never experienced anything like this. The only reason the hole closed this time was because I had to remove the piercing due to the irritation.
I do not recommend this place for piercings — safety and hygiene are clearly not a...
