I had one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing shopping experiences at Tutti Fruity Boutique. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with suspicion and disrespect. As a highly educated and successful African woman, I have no reason or intention to steal or damage anything, yet I was followed around the store as if I were a criminal.

The sales associate asked me four separate times if I needed help, despite my polite and clear responses that I was just browsing. Every time I touched an item, she would immediately walk behind me and inspect it—as if I was planning to take something. Another associate even joined in, and at that point it was obvious I was being watched purely out of prejudice.

To make matters worse, the quality of the clothing does not match the outrageous prices. The items are overpriced and look nothing like what you’d expect from a so-called “boutique.”
