I’m going to go through different factors as to why I give this type of rating, but I would like to say I do very much love this place!

Price 5/5 They are very good with their prices. You get large portions for the price you are paying and you are getting nice meals that do fill you up. Their drinks are a little on the small side, but the prices for the meals I think are well set.

Customer Service 5/5 This is a Portuguese place, please remember this! You are going to the ironbond for food, known for their Portuguese culture as well! I can almost always order perfectly, but there are some people that do not speak perfect English and might need you to go a little slower then you would normally speak. This isn’t meant to sound insulting, just something to consider if you have someone asking you to repeat yourself or go a little slower on the address.

Food 5/5 Very good food with many different little tastes in it. Everyone loves their hamburgers, but truthfully I love their spaghetti. I love that they have green olives in it and corn and cheese. It makes it taste so much better and makes me really appreciate the dish! :) I get it with red sauce and chicken! If you ever want to try it.

Delivery 4/5 One star is taken off here. The delivery does usually take a while and sometimes they are out of their own time window by about 5-10 minutes which does worry me. The food is always hot through and I’ve truthfully never had an issue with anything being wrong.

Updated review:

During a recent order I found out that they charge $1 for each additional packet of sauce which is very small and should be included. Furthermore, the price when you pay by cash or card is different (there’s an additional credit card fee) but when you place an order over the phone they charge you the higher price even if you intend to pay by cash.

So although the food is tasty they should be more transparent with their prices because a $14 burger ends up costing you almost $20 bucks.

I ordered from Altas horas for the first time today and was positively surprised. I called and the attendant was very friendly. I ordered one X Egg bacon Brazilian style sandwich and 2 slices of their empadão de frango (chicken pie).

I stopped by 10 minutes later and my order was ready. Note that it was on a weekday around 11:30am so I’m not sure how busy it gets later or during the weekend.

Both the sandwich and the empadão were very tasty, and in my opinion better than the same items offered at Hamburgao, one of their competitors. Hamburgao is still tasty but not as tasty as Altas horas, although Hamburgao offers some daily specials which Altas Horas don’t.

They included some sauces including the pink and green one which was my favorite. The place isn’t big but there are some tables if you want to dine in. In my case, I ordered for take out and the items were very well packaged.

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. As soon as we walked in they had an attitude and took us to a different table from where we wanted to sit just because they didn’t want to put an extra chair. But the people walking in had more people, and they arranged them and added more chairs. Then as we waited for our food they never came and ask how we were holding up since they didn’t give us our food for and hour and half. While others started to get there food before us, and we were there first. When we asked the waiter which was a guy he said he would find out, but never came back. We kept getting different waiters. When I finally went in to ask where is our food they kept getting a attitude. Once we got our food our drinks was hot, and we hadn’t touched it. They didn’t even give us some ice to make it colder. At least since we waited for so long, and when we ask if they can change the soda can she caught and attitude. They didn’t even give us Utensils.
