EDIT TO OWNER: Then what is the point of a reservation? Your “excuse” is not valid for my poor experience. A reservation is to ensure the business has the staff needed. Yesterday, 12/30/22 was my second visit at this restaurant. Two days prior, I did a reservation for 6 people at 8pm. Upon arrival, they never asked for the reservation name and instead pointed at a table with 5 chairs and only 4 cups/plates. We were lucky that someone cancelled last minute and only needed 5 chairs after all. The server was no better. The waitress was a short, thin girl whom was wearing glasses and had dirty blonde hair color. She never introduced herself, just came over with the notepad ready to write down an order. They took around 30 minutes to bring out the sides which was only (potato salad, salad, rice and beans, and fried bananas with French fries. We were only asked ONCE if everything was okay during the whole dinner. The only helpful people were those who were bussing the tables. The server was standing by the register along with other colleagues most of the time. Despite observing that our Sangria pitcher was empty, she never made the attempt to ask if we wanted to order more. We had to ask those who were bussing our tables. I figured tip was gonna be included in the bill since the service was poor. Upon receiving the receipt, the tip was already included. The only reason I think this is a bad idea, is because it gives the servers the ability to give sh**** service since they know they will be tipped anyways. The meat was great. I just don’t think we will return to spend $400 for such place.

Tucked away in Newark, this Brazilian steakhouse delivers exactly what you’d expect—e muito mais. The scent of sizzling meats fills the air as servers glide from table to table, carving generous portions with a flourish. The picanha, a verdadeira estrela do churrasco, arrives seared to perfection, its marbled fat melting into deep, smoky flavor. The alcatra is tender, rich, and full of character, while the linguiça packs just the right snap—bem temperada, do jeito que tem que ser. Beyond the meats, the sides hold their own. The feijoada is a bowl of pure comfort, thick and velvety, carrying that slow-cooked depth of flavor that only comes with time. Pão de queijo is golden and airy, each bite a little cloud of cheesy indulgence. And of course, there’s the farofa, that toasty, buttery crunch that makes every forkful even better. It’s the kind of meal that makes you loosen your belt and say, só mais um pouquinho, even when you know you shouldn’t. Service? Esquece. These waiters move like choreographed dancers, refilling drinks before you notice they’re empty and delivering every skewer with a knowing smile. Tip over 35%, and next time, they’ll treat you like realeza—or at the very least, keep the churrasco coming until you’re officially well-done.

Food used to be amazing at this place. I've visited the restaurant several times. But not satisfied on my last three visits. Probably they changed their chef but the taste is not the same. Update: January 2022 I drove 30 minutes to visit this place again since my last visit (2 years ago) I'm still a little disappointed that it has not improved, food and service wise. Like I said in my last review, this place used to be the spot on Newark. Not anymore of course. I was craving for the buffet but it is no longer being provided (due to covid-19 according the them) then if you seat in the dining area, you can't get a "special" meal what is called a Mon-Fri executive meal. You have to seat by the bar for that. Picanha was dry . Hopefully they bring the buffet back which was and still is a Brazilian cuisine thing :)

I would like to start by saying that I was very sad about the experience I had at your establishment, as soon as we entered your restaurant, we realized that the service was poor and very regular, but we moved on, your menu was well filled as you said, to several other people here giving them an answer to the complaints they made. I don't think your answers are of the level of a person who deals with the public and who in a way depends on the public to survive. My husband, and my son chose dishes from the menu, my 12 year old son always satisfied with everything he chose a chicken file with mashed potatoes, his file was unsalted and totally disgusting, my husband decided to go in the fish and shrimp, when receiving the dish had two fish fillets with two leaves of lettuce wilted and pressed, the skin fish is never served with the skin down always with the skin up (just a tip on how to serve) and someone in your kitchen forgot the shrimp who had been accompanying the fish, my husband ordered a Martini and received more lemon than the martini, I had the rodizio course and I'm a specialist in barbecue, not only do I like to eat but also do the meats. the salad that you serve with the rotation of the desire to cry when we receive it at the table, the presentation that you make on the dishes is very disgusting, dishes with chopped parsley scattered on the plate, it seems that the dish is dirty. I was only served two pieces of meat, the first was a small piece of flank steak that was totally hard and dry, then a piece of beef rib was so raw it was bleeding, and the waiter tried to convince me that it was the right spot for the meat. The way you deal in the kitchen reflects on the food, we are not complaining about paying what you charge, but we would like to have quality food on the table. I traveled almost 2 hours just to try the food in your restaurant, but I arrived at my house even more hungry. I found your restaurant in the surveys I did before taking the route to dinner, 2 hours later I was sorry to have chosen you. but I hope you can look at the criticisms and seek improvements, nobody is perfect but to follow the same mistake is too stupid. ...

Beware! Really have had great experiences at Boi Na Brasa (at their other restaurant on Merchant Street)...so when my buddy and I arrived at their Merchant Street location it was closed. So we called and spoke to a gentleman who told us that their Adams Street (Cass Nova) restaurant was open. So, expecting a new great experience, we went over there. Got to the restaurant door, opened door, and some worker ran to the door saying, "What do you want?!" like we were coming to burglarize the premises...I explained that we were told that this location was open when we phoned their other location-- very brusquely the worker said they're not open-- only for take-out and delivery.

The whole demeanor of this guy was disrespectful and rude. Normally I let things go, but since I like their other restaurant and have never experienced this sort of behavior from their workers, I decided to call back the number to the other restaurant and explain to the gentleman who told us this one is open. So when I called, the guy said again that Casa Nova is open for take-oit, delivery and DINING IN, and that since it's only two of us, we don't need a reservation. I then explained that there's a worker who told me that they're not open...at which point he put another person on the phone who told me that they said they'll be open soon.

At this point we felt put off by the interaction with the worker at the door and my friend said he saw what look like other people inside eating. So I don't know what the issue was but it's definitely not a place I'll be going back to--and by extension, unfortunately, I'm probably gonna Blacklist their other location--the one I've always enjoyed. Can't spend my money where customer service = the establishment making patrons...
