This was a full store, but I found myself bothered at the end. There was a price on a pair of items that I verbally confirmed with the woman working the store. I thought the price was really reasonable, so I wanted to make sure the tag was correct. She confirmed the price I saw was correct and even discounted it more, which my husband heard her do.
But, when we went to purchase it, the price was higher on the receipt. Then we asked to see the price tag and it also had a different price... $100 higher. When we questioned her, she tried to say that she agreed to the higher price, which was false.
So, our guess is that she realized the price was probably too low and tried to change the tag to a higher price while we were still shopping around. The original tags were written in a lighter ink (such as pen), but the new tag she presented with the higher price looked written in thin marker... and also my husband thought the tag looked brand new. So, we walked away.
If she realized the price may have been too low, I would have rather she been honest. We may have paid a little more. But, I wouldn't trust this place now.
Take photos of the tags...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is an antiquer's dream. There's so much glass work, teacups/full tea sets, glass bottles and figures and each is uniquely beautiful. There's bottles of old time medicine and tonics, old Life magazines (I looked through them hoping to find one my great grandpa shot the front cover for, A little boy playing marbles, but no luck this time), a navy jacket from I think WW2, different medals of honor and so much more cool stuff. I could talk all day about the stuff this place has. I was in the market for my first typewriter (apparently they're making a comeback with authors, so I had to get one before they disappear lol) and there were two sitting upstairs. I got the one that looks more like the 'traditional' type that you first think of when you hear the word. It has a broken key but I'm hoping that with some help from YouTube I can fix it. Mr.Billy gave us a discount on it, even tho I was willing and prepared to pay full price. If I could give ten stars I would and we'll definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go antiquing a lot and this was by far the best antique store Iāve been to. They had so many things I havenāt seen in person or even heard of. I pick up a salt cellar (I think thatās right), it was the first salt shaker if you will. Itās a small crystal bowl, some were square, that the richer people could afford because salt was a commodity back in those days. I havenāt been able to do much research yet but itās fascinating. I also got a pink breast cancer ribbon ring that fit me perfectly. The guy running the store was super nice and helpful. He didnāt hover and just let me shop and answered every question I had. When you enter the front door there was a grand double staircase that I was fascinated with. It was gorgeous and fitting for a store like this. If Iām the area I will go back. I had more pics but thatās all they would let me post. Old clothes, old teething rings, old wedding dresses, cool and odd things. If Iām the area you should...
