Getting the food was a bit slow but they were busy, it was supper rush time. We got a pound of the sliced turkey and not an ounce of it went to waste. We only got the meat and then added our own mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. They could use a bigger variety of sides. But the turkey was spot on! It was juicy and super tasty. The only issue was the edges were a bit over the top hot and peppery but our gravy and mashed potatoes helped tone it down a bit. Not a super whole lot but definately made it more palatable...I wouldn't have been able to eat the turkey just by itself. I wish we would have had some left over to make some sandwiches for lunch the next day, too. Overall, it is still the best turkey in and around Newnan, especially since you don't have to order it as a complete meal with sides you may not want and may not even eat. I sure hope they keep up the great cooking and don't disappear on us. They are one of the rare exceptions in the area to have good comfort food year round! Don't miss out on trying Dunk's...they do have more than just turkey and their other foods are on par and delicious as well. They could have a wider variety of sides. Please visit them and help support local businesses...we need good local food places to rival all these fast food joints that keep moving in and trying to knock out our local hometown food places! This is one of the few hometown joints that needs your help and patronization to stay in business. This isn't a crappy McDonald's or other fast food joint, it is the real deal and it is definitely well worth the wait to get some of the best comfort food in the area. I know we are all busy with places to go & things to do but slow down once in awhile and treat your family to something good to eat at leat 3 time a month and help save our local...
Read moreGood! Four stars due to some hiccups w/ service, I think from being newly opened (explained below.) If the place stays solid & smooths out it's service, I'll make this 5 stars. I ordered the BBQ plate w/ pulled pork & my wife ordered the "Amazing Potato". The people at the register were obviously learning the POS system, so things were a little slow, but they still kept the line moving. After we sat down, the server told us that the potatoes wouldn't be done for another hour. It was cool, though, b/c they let my wife upgrade to a BBQ plate, too, which costs $2 more. Also, the manager, who was very nice, gave me back $10 cash for the mix up. So, yeah, a little rough, but they were aware that there were some problems that needed to be ironed out and attentive to the customers when the problems happened. FOOD: Pulled pork - large serving for the price, moist, but with a thick, crunchy bark. Very good. Sauces - the "mild" was just that, and while not bad, just okay - the other two, though, a sweet one and a mildly spicy one, were both very flavorful and instantly addictive. You'll want more of these two sauces. Fried okra - OMG!!! - best I've ever had - not only was it fried very crispy, but not overdone, the okra still tasted fresh, it was seasoned superbly. Crunchy, crunchy, deliciousness! Mac & cheese - the only real "okay" thing on the plate (and btw, the plating, on small trays, is well thought out and nice) - pared well w/ the meat & okra, but just sort of blah on its own.
Overall, a good experience. They took their time and made both the inside and outside seating areas very clean, new, and inviting. I plan to go back. I want to try the "pink...
Read moreWe had Duncs cater our wedding on September 12 and to say the least, we were not at all pleased with our experience. Robin, the catering coordinator was very attentive and informative at the beginning which was the main reason we opted to utilize their catering service apart from the rave reviews and getting a much more budget friendly bid from a local resteraunt. However, they arrived 10 mins prior to me walking down the aisle and were scrambling to get everything out and set up... the set up was messy. After the ceremony, while our guests were eating, we got many complaints and mad faces because the food was cold, as in out of the fridge cold. Everything was set up at 5-5:10pm... dinner started at 5:40 and it was already that chilled. We had many guests leave hungry and dissatisfied to the point they left our reception early to go have dinner elsewhere. This is not only unfair to our guests but also to us whom paid for everyone to have a meal together, and were supposed to be celebrating a very special day with friends and family...instead we were saddened by the amount of people that left due to hunger. When I contacted Robin the following Monday(the 14th) we were met with excuses as to why the food may or may not have been hot as well as an attitude of "its not our problem". When I asked for my tip money back as a resolution to the issue we heard nothing back and still have not to this day. This is very shocking behavior and is unexpected given their reputation. We will be hosting a reception soon for those who could not attend our wedding as well as many other family functions and sadly we will not be utilizing nor...
