Going to start this review out with the positives, Amy was tasked with using my grandmothers engagement and wedding band (which was cut off of her finger) and creating my own wedding band using the diamonds extracted from her engagement ring. She did an absolute OUSTANDING job.
Onto the negative because the positive has an enormous weight on how the negative experience became such a positive. I took my grandmothers pieces into the shop back in March and spoke with Hillary. I explained to Hillary the significance of the pieces and how sentimental they were. I showed her Pinterest photos of ideas I wanted to turn the ring into and Hillary said at first that it could not be done. I continued showing her inspo photos and then she came back and said it would take about 6 months. I left the pieces with her and felt uneasy from the moment I left the shop. My wedding was 9/6 and she said the ring would be ready for pickup on 9/1. I never heard anything back besides the quote and to pay the amount prior to getting started on the piece. I never received any ideas from the jeweler or any updates. I decided to check back in mid August to see where the progress was and was told I could come in to see the mold.
Arriving at the shop and seeing the absolute DISASTER my grandmothers rings had been turned into, I wanted to cry right there in the store from the frustration, knowing the uneasy feeling I already had leaving the pieces with the shop in March. I explained to Amy the significance and the purpose (for the ring to be made into my wedding band) and she told me she had no idea it was supposed to be a wedding band and that it was supposed to sit up against anything (my engagement ring). I showed Amy the inspo photos I had originally shown Hillary and Amy told me she would get started on creating a new mold. She then texted me the photos she was brainstorming and we immediately agreed on the design. A week later my ring was ready for pickup and after picking my new wedding band and new family heirloom up, I wanted to cry again but because of how beautiful it was. I am so grateful to Amy and her kindness in a moment of internal panic and for creating a piece with history that I will get the chance to pass down in the years to come. This ring holds such meaning behind it and I am so humbled to have gotten the chance to turn this piece into something I get to wear every day.
Thank you Amy, your gift and craftsmanship will be bragged about in the...
Read moreThey ruined a ring I brought in for repairs. It's so ugly that we are now considering melting the whole thing down and having someone remake it. This ring was a gift for my little sister, but when she was wearing it she noticed the letters were pulling up and catching on her hair. So I brought it to Morgans for them to fix it, and they said it would be no problem. I get the ring back and it has these ugly weld marks all around the letters that make it hard to even read the letters, and it distorts the top of the J. I paid willingly in store, I'm not a cheapskate, but the fact that I paid 60 bucks for someone to make the ring actively worse and uglier is just insane. And if you're wondering if I brought this up to them, I did. They said there was nothing they could do about the marks, and that removing them would make the ring worse. I literally said it looked ugly (I was calm, btw) and they just stared at me. No options were posed whatsoever to make the situation right. So I paid and left. I'm...
Read moreI am new to Georgia. I had a pearl necklace that was missing pearls for many years and needed it to be restrung. They did an amazing job restringing it and it looks better than when I first bought it. When I picked up my necklace; I had them resize my engagement ring. They had the ring done within days. The ring was perfectly sized and beautifully polished. The customer service and communication is...
