2/2022:Those elephant ears….omg those elephant ears haha. They Used to be much bigger but after COVID they are smaller and a bit more expensive but they are worth it for a once in a while.
8/1/22: I wrote a review a while back about the elephant ears being a bit expensive and little did I know them that they’d end up at 5$ for 1 but August. I drive for Uber full time and when people ask for a place that I’d recommend for a treat I’d always tell them Newport Fudgery for the elephant ears. The past few years but businesses in a tuff spot financially. But 5$ for 1 elephant ear is where I have to draw the line haha. They are really good but they don’t taste like they used too. They'd crack in half and were crunchy! The smell from them would fill the house they were amazing. Not they are sticky and chewy. So sticky in fact that I guess whatever they used to bake them on because infused to the elephant ear. I think a parchment paper? Theres a sticky honey like substance on the bottom of the elephant ears that make them chewy now. Those elephant were amazing before. Not sure if costs are being cut, new ingredients or just less motivation by the staff? But they aren’t good anymore. If they were the size they had been before Covid-19 had happened then I could at least say they would be worth the 5$. But they aren’t at all if they sell them to customers with paper stuck to the...
Read moreMy family and I visited this store just this morning. There was no one in the store except for us. The 3 employees were eating behind the counters the entire time we were in the store and acted disturbed that we interrupted their conversation/eating. The young male employee served us but acted very annoyed that he had to stop chatting it up with his co-workers in order to serve us. It was our first time in this store so we did not know exactly what we wanted ... once again, the young male employee almost sighed when we stopped mid order to figure out what other kind of fudge we wanted to purchase. The employee offered no help, no input and when we asked how the products were, he acted annoyed. After ordering fudge, we inquired about the truffles - how dare we continue ordering! The employees were rude, not helpful at all --- I'm sorry I spent $50 in this place as there was another fudge shoppe just down the road. If you want bad service, go to this place. I would have probably bought more of this store's products had the employees been friendly, helpful and made some suggestions and ... maybe try to act like they like/were doing their job. I suggest the owner find new help!
I haven't tried the product as they were all presents - I am only rating the...
Read moreThe young man "working" last night was awful. 4 of us walked in at 645 to purchase some fudge. He looked seriously pissed that we walked in but apparently that was his overall mood. Did not say a word to us u til we said we'd like to get something. He seemed super annoyed that 3 of us wanted fudge. I was the last to order and after reading the sign, I had to inform him that I have an allergy and could not have anything that touched cranberry. His response? Then you're better off just not getting the fudge." Seriously? Since washing one would have exerted entirely too much energy for this guy, I asked if he could use one that he was certain did not touch the cranberry fudge. This was a major inconvenience for him. On check out I asked him if he hated working there because it definitely showed. He sort of snickered and said yes, he does hate working there sometimes and was disappointed that he could not close the store after us because another party had walked in. Overall horrible experience and I hope the owners eventually read the reviews. The fudge is also extremely hard/dry like it's been sitting there for quite a while. I never review places so for me to take the 5 minutes to complete this, just take my word for it and don't...
