Hammetts Wharf — Attraction in Newport

A newish boutique hotel along Newport’s #thamesstreet, Hammet’s Wharf is this welcoming accommodation that pays homage to curated works of artists with strong ties to the city. The #sarahlangley gallery has seasonal curated works there, as well as some of the photographs of #elliotlandy. Pretty cool. The attention to detail to the rooms makes you appreciate your stay there even more. Not a lot of hotels have this feature. I felt as if I was sleeping in my dream room, if that makes sense😬. The hotel is close to the marina; it’s next to the Italian resto #Giusto; valet and self-parking are on street level; patio where you can enjoy the sun; and the lobby - well this is a story all on its own. Again the attention to detail is on display. Unusual for a hotel; it’s like someone’s living room. Loved my stay there. And will go back for sure. Highly recommend! Location, service, cleanliness, views and a modern touch is what makes Hammetts Wharf our number 1 hotel in Newport. My wife and I frequent Newport at least 5x a year. Once Hammetts opened up a few years back we gave it a try and have not stayed anywhere else since.

The only downside to Hammetts would be the room size. They are very small, but if you can look past that you will be fine. Longest we have stayed was 3 nights and my wife packs as if she is staying for 3 weeks. We did just fine, cramped, but fine.

Pro Tip: take advantage of Black Friday sales. We landed a $107/night rate that we used to book a 3 night stay between Xmas and the New Year.

One of the many wharf in Newport. This one is small, only has 1 hotel, 1 restaurant, the Giusto, Italian, and a few exclusive shops. It also has the Hammetts bell on front of it. The restaurant has outdoor seating. And there is a nice view of the Harbor. Keep in mind that in the summer, all you see in most places in Newport are boats and yachts, not really water.
