Kaffeology — Restaurant in Newport

Mean girls at the counter! I have been going to this establishment in Newport for 1 year now. Every single time I request an online order, the level of anxiety I have interacting with this woman behind the counter is ALOT. I order during the busy time periods, Saturday and Sunday morning. Its there busiest time, totally understand. Somehow the girl who is making the coffee lattes fails to notice me. If there is more than one person waiting for a take-out order. The girl making the lattes cannot handle it. She is only concerned with her drink order. She can only handle ONE other person AT A TIME who is waiting for take out. There are FIVE of us waiting. After waiting, a long ten minutes for my order that was ready 30 minutes ago. Someone came out of the basement with fresh food orders and gave them to the other people who ordered them. When I asked her to grab my order, she got so angry and said “What’s your NAME”! Yikes, it never fails no matter who they hire, they make you feel like it’s your fault you ordered something. How dare you ask something?!! Only talk when your spoke too....of them while its busy. It seems like they are apart of the same mean girl club. I have never seen the business owner here or anyone older than 21 years old. They need someone with maturity or a manager who can handle the counter during these...

Cafe was adorable, blueberry mascarpone cake was great, coconut cream cold brew was awesome- initially thought the barista was super nice until my sister asked how many pumps of syrup the rose vanilla latte had and the girl gave her a weird look- fine, one off thing. we sat down and my sister got her latte and it wasn't even a little sweet, no rose vanilla flavor. It took a good minute to get the barista's attention again because she was having a conversation with another customer, and when I politely asked for a little more syrup on the side to sweeten the drink she said "uhh... yeah, give me like five minutes". Five minutes to put a little bit of syrup in a cup? There were three customers in the store besides ourselves. After I asked I heard her complaining to another customer that my sister had asked for her drink to be not as sweet and now she wanted it sweeter. We ended up leaving without the syrup. Kinda soured the experience...I don't like to complain, I'm a barista myself and I know how stressful it can get, but as a result I'm super polite to other customer service folks and it was frustrating that she had a problem with a...

Overall i love this place! We always drive by and wanted to try out, turned out to be one of my favorite coffee shop now!

Drinks: We ordered iced matcha strawberry latte, and a hot Milky Way latte. The strawberry matcha was so good the presentation was great, the flavor was amazing! Would love a little more of actual strawberries but that’s just my preference. Milky Way was great as well.

Food: We got a sweet potato burrito bowl, a mashroom filled denish(?), and brownies. Their brownies were so good that we had to go get another one! My husband usually doesn’t like salad looking bowls, but he liked this one and that surprised me!

Service/atmosphere: The staff were kind and very helpful! I always (😅) forget to ask for non dairy milk so I really appreciated them asking me if whole milk was okay!! Cute interior, but not much space inside so you want to plan to just take out. it’s lucky if you...
