Back in the December 2024 I purchased a patio sofa, 2 chairs and 2 tables from Jordan at Skippers. My bells should have went off when Jordan told me they had a bunch of cushions stolen and it was like we went on an Easter egg hunt to find cushions to fit. Well the cushions for the back of the sofa didn't quite fit but we squeeze enough to make them work. Jordan said he was going to give me a really good price which was a joke. I should have walked away then but it was close to Christmas and here's this young guy giving me his sad story. He told me he would deliver that afternoon for an additional $50.00. Which I was in my truck prepared to bring it home if I found something. But I allowed Jordan to pull at my heart strings. The evening comes and no Jordan, next day, no Jordan, I think it was on the 4th or 5th day Jordan and his girlfriend show in her SUV with a couple of pieces of the furniture. I asked Jordan why he wasn't there the night I purchased it as agreed and his girlfriend who said she was the owners daughter and operated the Skippers in Crestview went off on me and said they had a dead battery in the car. I told them being in the delivery businesses myself using a dead battery was an excuse. I had to helped them unload the furniture so Jordan would not be late to work only to find out the owners daughter would have to go back to the store for a second load which made me late for appointments. When the owners daughter got back she had the wrong table but made it very clear to me that she had to get to Crestview and could not fix their mistake but insisted she wanted the $50.00 delivery. I told her the job was not completed. I made Jordan aware of the table mistake and I guess the owners daughter had already made him aware I did not give her the $50.00. To this day I have one brown and one gray table. And I think Skippers is buying and selling furniture that Ashley can't sell because at 6 months the sofa and chairs need to be replaced and they are covered. It seems what Skippers does is buys defective products from other furniture companies and manufacturers and sells them to suckers like us. I have 2 chairs I purchased from about 10 years ago from Walmart that are still in excellent condition. I have learned if someone that is less than 5 minutes away from you wants a delivery fee run! Go online and order nice new things from Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart or any other place that has new products with free delivery. And if they use the excuse of a flat tire, dead battery, it's ok I'm my daddy owns the store or its ok I date the owners daughter keep your money in your pocket for sure. We're better off going to a second hand store than...
Read moreIf you ever purchase anything from Skippers, DO NOT use their 90 pay off through Okinus. According to Okinus today, you have to call to tell them you have paid off your account, or they will continue to charge you money well over what you owe for the furniture, until you tell them to stop. I paid off my account within 90 days, however since I never called to tell them it was paid off, they don’t think they owe me my money back. After two hours on the phone five days in a row, a finally got to talk to a home office manager who said Skippers should have told me that I had to call Okinus and tell them I was paying off my account via the 90 day payoff option, however no one ever told me that and it’s not stated anywhere in the agreement Okinus sent when we purchased our furniture. I understand Skippers doesn’t have my money and Okinus does, but if you are working with a company you should understand their rules and inform your customers. I am only getting back half of what I overpaid( $450 out of $900) which is frankly the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard and I will never do business with Skippers or Okinus ever again. This has been such a nightmare and I paid way more for this couch than was discussed on the agreement due to this finance company being stingy and sneaky. Just beware If you finance with Skippers,...
Read moreI wish I didn't have to write a review like this as to it is not the owners fault, but it is the employees. Very nice furniture here and great prices but to be able to get your furniture delivered is another issue. We had our furniture sold out from under us. The only way we found this out was by going in there to order another couch for our new condo. If we didn't do this ,we would have been left without a sofa sleeper. When we were able to get everything figured out by us having to change our order, they delivered a couch that was damaged. After MANY calls to get a new one, I was told that they would be more coming in but wont be until the summer and they would have this one fixed. Once again after MANY calls they finally were able to get someone out here to fix it. it seems that some of the employees at this company have no clue as to what is going on. They say one thing ,but never follow up with what is going on with your order or changes to the schedule. if you do order from them your going to have to stay on top of them for everything. I understand the shortage of staff, but when you have employees that have no clue as to what is going on with the day to day orders or job then you have a bigger problem. I or my business will no longer...
