Shortbarrel Bourbon | Atlanta Distillery & Tasting Room — Local services in Norcross

First time visiting and trying the whiskey. It was a great experience. I was prompted to go here by various YouTubers doing barrel picks and other videos about the whiskey.

I walked in and I was greeted by a nice young lady that quickly shut down any tastings... I almost walked out right then. That was the whole point for me for the visit. Clinton came out moments later and chatted me up. He let me know who he was and inquired about my taste profile, etc. Moments later I was trying whiskey!!! I liked everything I tried... nothing fell short based on how it was explained/presented. I don't want to shame other distilleries but often times the whiskey under delivers. This was not the case here. They are an NDP and source some good stuff. I believe Patrick came out and introduced himself. I got a peek inside the warehouse which smelled phenomenal. It was all a very organic and enjoyable visit. I wish I lived closer.

I'm hoping big things for these guys. The team is great. The whiskey is solid. They know what they are doing with the whiskey profiles, the customer experience, and gift shop. I'm seeing that they have the foundation...

Clinton and the team and Shortbarrel know their whiskey. A multitude of craft whiskey labels have emerged over the last several years, and it’s become evident that good whiskey, bourbon comes at a premium. I can confidently say the juice that Shortbarrel puts their name on has to be one of the most consistent when it comes to single barrel store picks that a whiskey lover can feel confident in spending their money on. Their infamous Bees Knees is really one of a kind (double barrel toasted honey finish), on its fourth iteration in 2025 and the cult following it has makes it a must buy (hell, the whole label has a cult following). Their cigar blend is dollar for dollar a worthy competitor in that catagory as well.

If you’re in the area, highly recommend stopping in to meet their small but mighty team in GA, they’re great people who care about putting out more and more good whiskey. And, you never know what special bottles you might see available for...
