If you’re looking for authentic Filipino food in South Carolina, Mae’s Filipino Cuisine in Charleston is the place to go. As someone who rarely gets the chance to enjoy home-cooked Filipino meals, finding a buffet that serves all the classics—dinuguan, menudo, pancit, lumpiang shanghai, and more—was an experience I wasn’t going to miss.

Stopped to pick up Pizzas at jets. Seen the word Phillipines on the door and thought..do they have lumpia. I went inside side where I was greeted by the most friendly staff. I asked a few questions and before I know it I'm out the door w 2 different flavors of lumpia to prepare at my house. They were making fresh in the store. The smells were awesome. Me being from a small town in Tennessee. It's the most worldly thing I can share with my family. They love lumpia. The sample taster that Chef Mae offered me was delicious. Then she Cam with another and sauce. The hospitality alone will have coming back. I was told she will soon have a restaurant next door to her famous shop and grocery. If you've never experienced this style of food, I would advise to do so. It was one of the cleanest kitchens I have every stepped foot in.
