First, I had them do about $300 in jewelry repairs for me. Everything turned out great! Then, I bought a chain from Ed a little over a year ago for my husband. I told Ed exactly what I was looking for and he quickly got in two chains with different thicknesses for me to choose from. I went and chose the thickness I wanted and bought it on the spot! Very nice experience! So much so that I was ready to buy another one for my son for his birthday. WHOLE different experience this time. Sadly, Ed isnāt there anymore. The person working there admitted not being very knowledge with jewelry since sheās just helping out. Many phone calls took place just to answer a few simple questions (type of chain, thickness, price, weight etc) I had about my previous chain purchase. She had to keep calling me back after inquiring with the owner/daughter who took over the business. (The daughter should have just called me to avoid further confusion at this point) The price I was given was much higher than I expected to pay but of course gold prices are high, we loved the quality and I wanted this for my sons birthday next week. I asked if they could get the chain in and I could come in to buy it after making sure itās exactly the same as the last one. However, I was told they require you to put 1/2 the money down before the necklace is ordered! (New owner new rules I guess?) With all the earlier confusion with the assistant I did not feel comfortable giving them $340 before seeing the actual item. I was told, the daughter remarked itās the same chain and that I didnāt need to see it before I purchased it. They refused to order it for me without $ down. I refused to put $ down on something I couldnāt review in person. If they were so confident it was the same chain they would have ordered it, had me come look at it and Iād buy it in person. It was nearly $700 I was going to spend but not without seeing it in person first. Ed never made me put any money down before ordering in multiple necklaces for me to choose from. He CLEARLY valued his customers and thatās why I returned. Unfortunately things here are very different now. Iāll definitely find and support a different local jeweler...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience from first contact to last interaction. First, Ed said he didn't return my initial phone call because in the message I had left for him, I had asked about the price of something. He said he thought it might be too much for me without ever having spoken with me. Next, he took the photo of my deceased nephew with which he was making a pendant. When complete, the pendant had a small but very noticeable gouge on the front of the frame, and my nephew's head was not centered; it was off to the right of center. He tried to talk me into keeping it saying that it would cost him more money to repair it. In the end I told him I'd like to have it redone as it was a gift for my sister. He redid it and when I went to pick it up, the price was more than we had discussed. When I expressed my frustration with that (not yelling), his assistant grabbed it off the counter and told me she didn't need my attitude. I asked her why I was not allowed to express my frustration about the price being changed on me. She said I didn't understand that it was hand made, which I do understand as I create artisan jewelry as my business. It went south from there. She wouldn't sell me the personalized pendant of my deceased nephew and told me to leave the store. I admit, at that point I lost me temper and there was much swearing and yelling. I swore, we both yelled. I left the store and remembered I hadn't gotten the photograph back so went back in to request it and was told she didn't know where it was. I left my address for it to be mailed back to me so I could give it back to my sister. I am still waiting and somehow doubt he will do the right thing and return it. There are other things he did exceedingly poorly, mostly customer service and communication issues, but this is the bulk of it. I will never set foot in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was recommended to Cia's when I was looking for an engagement ring for my now fiance. Ed and Angela were so welcoming. They listened to what I was looking for and walked me through a number of options that could fit my budget. They were both willing to accommodate an expedited timeline and I was able to propose to my fiance on a family vacation in The Outer Banks. My fiance was blown away by the craftsmanship of the band and the diamond that Cia's was able to source.
We again used Cia's for my fiance's wedding band and once again were the best to work with. They didn't pressure us into buying anything that wasn't my fiance's style or anything that she wasn't absolutely in love with. Ed made us a mold to try on first and then had the ring created. We will both be Cia's Jewelry...
