Shady company. I have bought several lots through this company before. They list lots with a condition of "Returns" but often times, these items are missing pieces, non-functional, or physically broken. I would estimate that on any given lot, about 40% should actually be marketed as "Salvage." On any given "Returns" lot, I have been able to repair or parts-out approx half of the broken/non-functional goods, but the remaining 20% of the lot ends up going straight in the trash.
It is possible to make money on some of the lots, but you have to be very careful about what you're bidding on and how much you bid for the lot. The manifests provided by this company quote MSRP prices that are sometimes completely outrageously high and don't reflect the actual MSRP of the item, even when it was first released. They also have a habit of listing junk items on the manifest as "Accessories/Office Products" or other such nomenclature always at a value of $39.99 when the items are very obviously retailed new for much less than that. For example, on one lot I received a bumper sticker (granted, it was unused) but was listed with an MSRP of 39.99 as an "Accessories/Office Products" when I could not find this item selling brand new for more than a couple of dollars.
I have also had several lots that were completely missing some of the inventory. They state a 2% lot variance in the auction listings which gets them out of liability for the missing items. Often times, these were some of the higher valued items in the lot. I have also received lots where the items listed on the manifest were not what was contained inside the box. For example, one lot listed a current model Apple Airport device when the one I received in the lot was actually the original Apple Airport Express device that is essentially valueless.
Sometimes the bidding seems to go exceptionally high on some lots, to values that would exceed the value of the included items if purchased wholesale brand new from a distributor. I have also had lots that at the final moments before auction ending, magically bid exactly to the max proxy bid I had entered, even though the lot didn't have many bidders to begin with. There is no point to snipe bids here because auctions get extended by 5 minutes when a new bid is made, and prior bidders are notified, so I suspect there is some shill bidding going on when lot prices aren't meeting expectations.
The latest problem is that the level of customer service has been declining over the last year or so. I recently bid and won an auction lot, and requested local pickup. When I went to schedule the pickup, it was virtually impossible to get in contact with the support center to schedule the pickup. After making 6 or 7 calls adding up to multiple hours on the phone on hold, and finally getting a support rep, I am told that its too bad, I'm too late to schedule a pickup, regardless of the fact that I had also sent e-mails several hours earlier in the day to schedule a pickup time, which also went unanswered. If you attempt to escalate and issue, response times are on the measure of days to weeks. Even after explaining the issue to multiple parties including the people at the pickup warehouse, they refuse to deliver the product without a scheduled pickup time, even after spending many thousands of dollars with the company. Also, I could actually see in the warehouse that my order had been pulled and was ready for pickup, yet the warehouse reps refused to assist in any way and claimed it was my fault for not scheduling on time (even though it was impossible to do so).
In summary, I will no longer be doing business with this company. In my opinion, their business practices deserve scrutiny from local/state/federal officials as there are several issues going on ranging from breaking of FTC regulations to fraudulent manifests, to substantial misrepresentation, likely theft from lots, and outright refusal to address the issues and absolutely NO customer...
Read moreSpent $4000 in auctions. One auction I spent $800 listed as returns. Almost all auctions listed as returns are salvage. The 5 most expensive most easily sellable for the most profit are broken. These items go through amazon returns.. the ones amazon reject go here.
I have found over and over again that the most expensive listed items in an auction are damaged. Return auctions are salvage.. salvage auctions are trash. There are some exceptions, but bid low.
I contested the auction with them, but once you walk out there door, you are out of luck.

Read moreBUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I have been buying pallets from Liquidation.com for a couple of year with limited issues until recently. I buy mainly from Titan Electronics through the Las Vegas warehouse and over the past 6 months or so I have noticed that a higher percentage of the "return" items have been coming in broken/non-functional. Last week I purchase a pallet with a msrp of over $13,000 with the bulk of the value being in electronics and cameras. When I got the pallet and inspected the items I discovered I had a huge problem. 17 of the top 18 high value items were broken, in addition about 6 or so of those items had been disassembled and were missing parts. It was very clear that this was not in fact a returns pallet, in in actuality it was a SALVAGE pallet they marketed as a returns. I have purchased dozens of returns pallets over the last couple of years and not once have I come across multiple disassembled items in a returns pallet. Additionally, I have never seen anything close to this kind of a failure rate in the items in the pallet, typically if you have a broken/non-functional rate of over 20% it is a bad pallet, in this case I had a failure rate of about 94%. I filed a dispute with Liquidation because Titan Electronics had clearly sold a SALVAGE pallet mislabeled as a RETURNS pallet and that is, to be perfectly honest, fraudulent in my opinion. Liquidation quickly sided with the seller, telling me that I should have known my risks when buying a return pallet and that a 94% failure rate was perfectly acceptable for a return pallet. They also informed that this decision was final and would not be revisited and basically, if I didn't like it, tough. SO, if you buy from Liquidation just keep in mind that they will support their sellers no matter what, no matter how egregious their sellers...
